I haven't used a needle or asked for a revive since Uprising. Utter waste of time. That's what clones are for, it seems. I for one have never completely understood how logis think that they are saving everyone when time and again people bleed out and respawn. and that's how the match ends. You don't want to revive people, fine, and if that's the margin by which your team loses, grand. It's called playing your role. Snipers go solo and can't be counted upon by the gun-pod, that's their business. Logi says then they aren't reviving snipers (not like I even know how that works), so be it. You might as well say you aren't going to needle tanks or HAVs. |

Um... most times, people on MY team have no idea where I am, let alone the dudes on the other team. If you could even FIND me while on my team to rep me... it'd be rather out of your way to GET to me.
In any case, I peg enemy snipers in between calling out enemy movements and picking off the occasional raspberry while he tries to take our objectives. I'm one of those obnoxious snipers who actually do my team some good. A lot of good, on my good games.
TL;DR? **** off, with your elitist attitude. I fill a necessary role, and I do it well. I'll shoot an extra Logi to make up the difference for the sniper that you don't heal.

Sometimes you are wrong in all the right ways.
I'm guessing the OP has been on the receiving end of some targeted sniping for either being a medic or out in the open (i.e. visible to the enemy MCCs jump deck). Obviously he didn't get the memo that all Logis are supposed to be the new Slayers. By focusing on the silly stuff like team support he is missing out on the lucrative kill war-points. Forgo your equipment slots young man and join the dark side. |

Snipers are a little bit more independent than most.
As someone who is routinely helping defend an objective, counter-sniping -- I particularly enjoy picking people off when they are on top of the tall inaccessible buildings -- and if things are slow enough hacking CRUs and objectives. It never really occurs to me that I might be able to be revived.
Also, of course, at times it is necessary to be behind the red line, or well off to the side, while there are swarms of reds taking the objective at your end of the field. If you don't know it... snipers generally aren't set up for CQC activities. While some snipers sit around doing nothing all day, which irritates the heck out of me as well, not everybody does. Save your angst for those that deserve it.
As I actually get onto the field I'm routinely shot by blues for giggles or run down by friendly LAVs on my way to defend an objective. These tools are even more useless than idiot snipers. However, it's possible they are just left-over butthurt individuals who were on the other team not too long before.

And i am only going to climb that damn hill to kill a red one.
Anyway don't blame the player blame the game.
CCP made every map a hole surrounded by hills...yes all FPSs have one or two good sniper maps. CCP made the decision that every Dust map should not only be sniper maps, but should be the most ultimate sniper maps in the history of FPSs and put excellent sniper perches behind the red line, and friggin made AR bullets only travel 50 meters before the evaporate.
One can hardly blame a player for playing the class that CCP designed their whole game around. |
