Let's all face reality: a mlt HAV is easier to kill than a mlt LAV. By introducing free HAVs for everyone to kill, everyone will be banking 400k/match from all the blueberry tankers running around with no idea how to do anything. At least tanks take some skill to use, unlike OP mlt lavs.
Plus, how hilarious would it be to see an entire team of 16 blueberries in an armored column getting blown up by one proto forge or real tanker!? :D |

I'm game for explosions, explosions everywhere.
I don't know if it's a good idea but it's a fun one. Gut is saying good idea, brain is currently retiring and has no comment.
Could be a good vehicle for someone to practice HAV maneuvres, give them some idea for how it plays out that doesn't require them to haemorrhage money as they climb the initial learning curve. |

Honestly, there's a reason there's no BPO vehicles (outside certain promotions). It's the same reason we don't have BPO forge guns or swarm launchers (outside certain promotions). It'd really make ISK pointless and just fuel the already blazing inferno of BPO hate present on these forums. There's still people calling for the complete removal of starters. |

These were inserted in the 5/7 build and were in the build at Fanfest. From what I understand they were priced at around 30,000 Aurum.
Can't see why they would be put in if there wasn't at least some consideration that they were going to be added to the market. |

We used to have free militia HAVs in beta, back when they cut all vehicles costs and skill costs by a huge amount and we had 4X skill rate accumulation so they could properly test out the breaking point of anything and everything vehicle related.
It was funny at first, but freebie HAVs (They also had dropships too iirc) like our freebie LAVs ended up with countless "end the HAV spam" threads on the forums.
Then again, it was hilarious to use a Sagaris and solo 4 militia HAVs at once... Still, there were too many vehicles and not enough groundpounders, as you ended up having too many blueberries hop in the spam tanks and nobody was taking objectives. |

I've got an extremely cheap Sica fit, which is absolutely phenomenal for the price. 138k+ (using BPO modules). Poke around some videos on Youtube. I'm not the only one who uses it. Tonight, I'm gonna tinker with a Soma. Put that 2.5m Templar I$K to work. 
It's weak at reps, and has a stupidly low survivability rate, but it's cheaper than my proto suit and FUN. Which is why we're all here after all, right?
If you're a good tanker you can rack up a decent number of kills in it before recalling too. Just know that it's NOT a Gunlogi. Which, incidentally is NOT a Madrugar. Hence the attempt at a Soma. = /

It was that E3 build that I decided to run av all of the time. Every fit had a swarm launcher and I'd usually get alot of wp's for just being av. As I remember, tanker's actually did not like there being a free tank because they were everywhere, which made more ppl train av, so when they brought out their fancy tank, the entire team would be able to counter them with av.
It's been too long for me to remember if I enjoyed it so much that I'd want to return to it, but i'd be open for another event where we had free tanks/ds for a week or so. |

Well ever since they made it so militia SLs can't 1 shot an LAV, the main thing that keeps free LAVs viable is that if they stay moving fast they can avoid most damage and quickly reach areas where it's safe(ish) to recharge their shields.
Tanks are big, and slow, and will take a lot of damage before you can move them to safety if you get ambushed.
Militia HAVs are great against the AR toting masses but if the enemy starts spawning in forge cannons they quickly become giant mobile coffins. |
