Since the new forums trend seems to be bashing the "lack of content" in 1.2 im going to put up an honest opinion thread on the subject. What Have I heard, what do I know, what do I see. Ive heard that a new dropship model is inbound, along with two roles, and gun rebalancing. I KNOW isk transfers and PC kick function is being added. And I see people whining on the forums for 1 month of Developing being less then they expected.
I, as a director, would have been more then content if 1.2 was just a isk transfer update. To me that means I don't have to sift through 400 + members (not in alphabetical order) on a list that takes 5 minutes to load and another 5 just to find the name im looking for WHENEVER someone wants an isk transfer done. NOW they can finally do it themselves The PC add on is a nice temporary fix, not that it makes PC any better to get into...... (The fact that at the start of the match I have to recapture buildings that I was supposed to own anyway just doesn't make sense...... BRING BACK SKIRMISH 1.0 just sayin.....)
As for the other things I mentioned, I didn't see an actual dev blog saying it so I wont say there coming for sure, but..... im pretty sure that gun balancing is coming at the very least.
So yeah! in short im happy with this update. It was above and beyond what I expected and so now im just waiting for that respec........
AND for 1.3 because if you guys could do this much for 1.2 im excited for what comes in 1.3 (as im almost positive 1.2 was rushed though I could be wrong). Lol, rant over. |

I want to make something clear. I am angry, because devs are prioritizing addon content above bug fixes. People like you are not helping the issue, by thanking them for content. Everytime you thank them for content they consider releasing more content to make us forget about broken gameplay.
1. They are not fixing PC with that. People can still AWOX by joining at the last second, this puts the players directly into the game and they cannot be kicked because they bypassed the warbarge. WE fixed awoxing by publically abolishing it.
2. My gun still misfires, when it shoots the detection is bad, aiming needs a fix, PC wins sometimes dont register, framerate drops after long gameplay.
Instead of fixing this stuff they are throwing content at us and hoping we forget. |

you clearly don't know how a team of people work. you don't have 30 people from the artists to the janitors all editing the aiming code simultaneously because it's the "priority".
this same thing has been explained in pretty much Every Freaking Videogame Forum Ever. |

Yeah, the same threads explain that they cant fix bugs if they are writing new content. |

Doesn't matter. CCP wants to fix guns that still can't shoot properly? Or let's add in brand new content when basic glitches/bugs still exist? They need a priority list.
1.) Gameplay fixes (fps lag, disconnect, loading screen, hit detection, I could go on) 2.) Basic content (why is there only one heavy, why only cal/gal vehicles) 3.) Now they should try balancing. 4.) Additional content (brand new weapons, vehicle types, drop suit types)
To me, it seems to be in reverse order. I'm not saying they shouldn't split up and multitask where possible, but If it doesn't take an entire team to sift through every problem that exists in step 1 right now, they are doing it wrong. |

What people are forgetting is that this new dev blog was posted by team True Grit, not the entirety of CCP. There's multiple teams working in different areas, and each one is adding stuff to 1.2; we just haven't heard from them yet. |

It isn't clear but it is implied, since the topic in question is new content and bug fixes which both fall under development |

Are you suggesting new content doesnt need code wrote for it? |

Are you suggesting new content doesnt need code wrote for it? He is saying that there are guys writing new content and guys writing bug fixes smultaneously. Which if were structured this way, he is suggesting that it takes less time to write content than it does to fix it. Sadly, I do not agree that the teamnis structured this way. I think they are in departments, and certain fixes cannot be made until some content is first released. So there are likely, some guys twiddling their thumbs waiting for content to be finished so he can start fixing stuff. |

thing is, sometimes fixing it requires you to rewrite part of the coding if not everything depending on how severe the bug is.
If you are wondering what's coming in 1.2, watch that E3 video, stop on the first slide where he talks about the patch, that is what is coming. |

The worst part is the longer I wait for these fixes that every claims should be easy stuff, the more I wonder if it can be fixed. Myabe it cannot or they dont know how and that is why they are blitzing us with content instead.
So where is this priority list you keep going on about??? I want to see a dev say "were prioritizing content add ons" and if you can find that ill consider your point. But the only things ive heard them say their prioritizing is aiming controls, and other things like bugs and glitches...... Me thanking them for FREE monthly updates is my way of showing gratitude. Which.... seems to be lacking on this forum.
Lol, your whole argument is based off the fact that that they aren't prioritizing bug fixes and core gameplay, and that my post encourages them to keep doing things wrong..... Your a bit too narrowminded I think, BUT HEY! Maybe your right! I should just spam the forums talking about how the game "SUCKS TOTAL DONKEY NUTS" that's sure to help them more than an encouraging thank you thread...... |

Lol, whats more pathetic is that your taking sarcastic notes on a forum thread that you apparently detest.....
Ive explained in several forum posts already why 1.2 is a good update and what a major step forward this is, but I guess the little pions still don't get it.....
Ill restate this for you......
I AS A DIRECTOR TO A 400 MAN CORP would have been satisfied and content with the 1.2 patch bringing nothing more then the isk transfer function. BUT there bringing us new class roles, a new dropship, A PC awoxing fix (temporary) and more gun balancing in addition to all of that.
Now im sorry if your not satisfied with CCP for not fixing all the problems in the game within a 1 month timeframe, but considering the limited amount of time they had to work on this update, I think we should be a slight bit more understanding if its lacking in some of the other things we want...... idk I guess that's just me. |

YEAH. CUZ PAYING EMPLOYEES TO TWIDDLE THEIR THUMBS ALL DAY IS A GREAT WAY TO MAKE MONEY...... lol we can both argue this all day considering its clear neither of us have any clue how CCP makes their employees work. |

not necessarily, Whats stopping them from adding a gallente pilot role using the scout suit with a different paint job??? They do it with many suits all ready and its all place holders meant to give the art teams time to catch up. The coding for all this content is there, the art part of it isn't. Now if they were to add new guns that would be taking up coding because of the associated animations that would have to go uniquely with each new gun, along with how its an entirely diffen't model ect ect.....
So in short. THERE ARE WAYS for them to add new content without having to add more coding, OR even artwork for that matter. I mean there was a thread brought up by one of the CPM not long ago asking the community if we would prefer many roles coming out early with placeholder dropsuits. Or if we would rather wait until the art designs are done for all of them. |

If they dont know by now then they should just stick to EVE.
Anyhow, I'm holding out hope that 1.2 and 1.3 (hopefully the month after) will set us on the right track. |

I like the fact that the next update will give us ISK transfers between individual mercs rather than relying on our corp as a proxy. Makes it a lot easier to establish private transactions.
As for the kick-while-in-warbarge system, I approve. There needs to be some system in place for directors to be able to ensure that only the most trust worthy players are in the important battles while still allowing spies/awoxers to get in via trust. |

exactly..... This patch isn't bad, I just dislike how people are so unsatisfied with it. |
