The aurum weapon, to get, or not to get you may ask? well some say no, because you are just gonna loose it in battle in the first place, so why spend actual money on something that you are gonna loose? Some say yes because they offer different abilitys and what not, but honestly its just a waste of money, you want to use aurum go out and buy an active booster, so what you loose that suit; you still have that active booster

Personally, I use it to buy malitia blueprints, that way I can be effective, and free in my covenant assault suit or sever logistics suit.
I can also upgrade my free saga with-out paying a single ISK. that includes shield boosters and extenders |

Yeah I have about 20,000 aur that I got for free when I purchased my PS3(The Uncharted 3/Dust Bundle) and I still have not used it yet. Never found much of a point in spending it on weapons. Been saving it for when I get my skill respec on my main(whenever that is), but I will probably end up buying BPOs. |

Only AUR weapon I have purchased was the GÇÿHateshard' Remote Explosive (20 AUR per unit) for use on my Mad Bomber fit, because I did not have the skills to use the Proto Remote Explosive.

I use aurum weapons to test out those weapons I don't have any skills in before I spend the points (eg using the charstone before speccing into plasma cannons) or to temporarily use a higher level weapon before I can get the ISK equivalent (eg currently using the deadflood plasma cannon until I can upgrade to use the ISK variant). The sooner I can stop spending aurum the better.

This is why I buy them occasionally. Same as suits. |

I have no issues with giving my money to CCP. I use Aurum for boosters, BPOs for grinding, Next level gear experience and now and then I use the aurum version of a weapon if I am low on isk. The bottom line is that it is a different type of currency, if you have a steady source of RL currency, spend it how you like.
For the the cash strapped player, I would recommend keeping the following in mind: Assuming a weekly SP (Cap) of 200K, the Active booster awards you 100k SP The Passive booster ups your 24k/day to 36k/day, netting you an additional 86k |
