Dear Mercenaries,
I have received a strange piece of information from my network, it contains a prediction of the lifespan of the current immortal soldiers across the cluster. According to this information, by the end of next month we will be seeing some sort of doomsday event that will destroy New Eden or something.
I don't know what to make of it. However the data presented seems to be reliable and there is definitely something in there.
Can somebody can help me verify the data?

Least squares fit to the data or just drawing a line?
EDIT: Also, you can only predict the TREND of the data, not what actually will happen. The estimate could be good in a short time window, but this is a highly non-linear system, so it is not possible to say anything about your results. |

First of all, is that mathematically correct? Did you enter all datapoints into a graph and do a regression?
Secondly, you don't take into account how much the 1.2 patch will increase the playerbase.
Also you don't take the hardcore fanbase into consideration etc.
There's a lot of things not covered here. The world isn't really that predictable |

I wouldn't say that the trend is going to be linear. It might be close, but the trend will most likely be a soft exponential decay. So it might actually be 3-6 months before the playerbase reaches 0. Unless something amazing happens soon and this game gets fixed.
Actually nevermind, this game is already dead. CCP, please mercy kill this game so we can all stop hoping. |
