When other games come onto your forum with the express purpose of trying to get players to convert.
It's a classical tacit in business, when they feel intimidated by the prospect of competition they
will put effort into a smear campaign against the competitor, trying to convince the competitors
customer base to convert to their product. Kind of like what Microsoft was doing at various Nintendo
e3 experiences at Best Buys.
Don't get me wrong, DUST has it's large share of problems, but fortunately it doesn't need to run around the
competitors forums to try and steal customers. |

Oh, you mean like how Pyrex mentioned in one of his recent videos that SOE has been looking for people who upload Dust footage and offering to PAY them to do recordings of Planetside 2?

The problem is that tactic works great when a company like CCP reacts and handles it.. well, like they are handling it.

You know a game is trash when the fanboys have to blame any dislike on astroturfing. Guess what, no one (except maybe CCP) is afraid of Dust. This game isn't a threat to a single FPS or MMO out there, certainly not in its current state. |

No, it's not. Anyone who has played actual AAA games can only laugh when they play Dust. What aspect of Dust in its current state even remotely competes with other shooters?
I play EVE, but that doesn't mean I'm going to give CCP any slack for a shoddy product. |

There's a difference over complaining about a game's legitimate flaws and trying as hard as you can to promote another game that will compete with this one. |

I have to run it on Very Low to even get a stable framerate.
Conversely, I can run Blacklight: Retribution, a DirectX11 title, on medium with all the special features enabled and hold 60 fps even on that map with the rain. |

I played DUST 514 and lost several hours of my life I could have used better by trying to beat my QWOP high score. Won't make that mistake again.
QWOP has this great persistency where you can keep playing and it means something because if I beat my high score it gives me this sense of accomplishment. QWOP is this cool little AAA title, bug free, its even a flash game! (how innovative for a AAA game to be a flash game!) The controls are even better than DUSTs! |

I play with all settings max'd with no slow down and 50 people on screen.
