Put a bullet in its head, and start over.
Hire veteran FPS devs and build exclusively for PS4. Get rock solid controls and balance.
Use mistakes learned on PS3 to build something fun for PS4. it was a good beta.
Make each district an open world map about the size of a quarter of a Planetside 2 map, and allow for similar type of massive numbers in a battle. Itll make vehicles actually important instead of OP. Imagine having to defend a district against wave after wave of endless clone soldiers until your Fleet arrive to cut their resupply off.
Remove timer grind completely. Why incorporate the single most hated "feature" of EVE's Sov warfare??? Just make the time to hack a obj have insanely high time when the district is away from reinf time, getting smaller and smaller until it reaches reinf time, and the objs have normal hacking time. So, you could hack a district overnight if you wanted to, but do you really want to sit there for 3 hours and hold a button?
Allow for dynamic attacking and defending, with defenders actually starting with holding their own obj's, which are spread out over the map.
Allow for Halo Forge like map creation. If you own a district, CCP will provide the terrain and assets, but depending on the district, you are required to place certain structures for it to be valid, and you can arrange to your liking.
BF4 style commander mode. Nuff said.
Open PVE like Destiny, let players roam the map killing drones and other stuff, or setting up resource harvesters, only to have to return to base to prepare for impending invasion.
More second screen integration with drone equipment, that you can spot enemies with, provide ecm or even remotely hack objectives.
Lastly, go balls out for EVE integration, no more tiptoeing. Unless EVE players have a reason to GAF, this game wont go anywhere.
ALSO, Vegas, how about enforcing those forum rules by banning trolls? |

And yes, blame your post locking on "trolls"
It's actually a 5000 player. To be fair to Paran, when he brings up examples of other games I don't think he means it in a way to say that they should just re-skin other games and call it Dust (although the truth is that Dust is already a poor man's version of every other FPS). The things like BF4 commander mode and Destiny PVE are things that should already be in Dust and have been brought up by the devs numerous times. It just happens that because of the circumstances those are games are doing them first and better.

Skipper Jones wrote:There is a difference between "what sounds cool" and "what would fit Dust"
Yes, all of those things sound extremely cool, but if they were added to the game, Dust wouldn't be Dust anymore. CCP should just concentrate on what they have planned rather than starting from scratch. Sounds good but the whole idea behind Dust 514 just isn't there anymore.
I know people say that dev's brought up some of the stuff mentioned, but did they say "were working on it" or "we thought about it"? Those two sayings have a day and night difference.
if CCP doesnt adapt, Dust will die.
Point is, the industry is changing at a rapid pace, and CCP needs to pick up the pace or be threatened by the spectre of being left in the dust. Yea, CCP did say they wanted to have a commander mode, by why not take it a step further like BF4 and have it ingame, as well as on a tablet. Thing is, it provides options, and make its more accessible, especially for commanders who cant necessarily be in front of a tv 24/7.
Regarding open world stuff, this is another trend, but a good one, and it matches kinda what CCP has already mentioned as far as PVE content, just expands it a little further. I'm skeptical, but I'd love to see the size of some PS2 battles in Dust, simply for the fact that EVE is known for its massive battles with 3000+ ships. At the very least, they should be able to pull off something similar to MAG's Domination where obj's are further spread out on a map.
All of these things in themselves arnt super innovative, but bringing them all together into a single package that links with one of the most popular MMO's of all time is.
You can talk down my points all you like, but there it is, if nothing changes for the better, if CCP cant keep up, this game will fall to the wayside and be forgotten except for an asterisk at the botton of a wiki page about EVE's 20th anniversary. |
