Because of the imaginary water underneath.
Its a sandbox guys, we are expected to make our own content.
So when you crossing the bridge just hum a pirate ditty and pretend there is water there. |

Yeah but if it was a water channel wouldn't the water be flowing right into the main complex/city? |

If you're talking about the city map where A is located, I like it. But that bridge should be the main focus. I've seen way too many skirmishes and ambushes where everything gets ignored because fighting on that bridge is just too much fun. |

Because even though we are in a technologically advanced super society with cloning, teleportation, warp and jump drives.....
We still can't make a hover tank or air speeder or jump jets
Sorry, that technology just isn't available to us. It's so futuristic that its basically magic.
So we need bridges..

You saw we're getting speeders, right?
CCP is being smart about their world design in a very important regard: hovering is dumb in most cases.
No matter how well you can make your hover device, and no matter how many weapons and layers of armor plating you can put on a vehicle using it, you can ALWAYS put more on something that just sits on the ground.
Also, teleportation is very strictly limited. In EVE, it can only be done by ships with Jump Drives, and they need a beacon at the destination for them to jump to.
In Dust our suits provide similar functionality at the cost of greatly shortening the life of our clones because squishy bodies aren't built for traversing higher dimensions to jump distances up to several light years instantly. |

Speaking of overpass, notice that iron delta has an incomplete overpass? Running from the northeast corner to somewhere southwest in the redzone |

bridge makes for a great battle IMO, its the main access to D/E from the opposing sides, plus, pinch point battles are always far more fun than people coming from all directs. This opens up an area which snipers can help without having to red line, drive by blaster tanks can be use beyond greatness, LAV's get to try fly swat some poor clones. In general for all class', build and players its a great battle point, maybe one of the best in the game. |

It's alright dropship, he didn't mean it. You're still useful. Look at you, you tanked that sniper bullet like a champ. ... And now you're on fire.

That is a very limited theory about the effects of gravity. Given the fact that we will need Antimatter to travel at Warp velocity anyways, it has been theorized that such Antimatter will also have gravity negative effects, therefore the idea weight is of any importance is relative.
A planet moves through space at a certain velocity, the star it revolves around does as well, the entire galaxy moves at a velocity. There are many things moving and gravity is the only thing holding us to any one thing and one thing to another thing. What would make a fixed vehicle stronger then a fixed structure versus a hovering gravational craft? If antimatter could be mastered it is likely that we could just make a set or variable posistion relative to our current location and would be pretty much immovable from that location based on our mass versus the mass of the object colliding with us. But then again with antimatter the physical impact could be lessened and repulsed based on anti-gravitational forces exuded from the craft itself. |

It's not the way they are randomly scattered, it's the way they are 'randomly' scattered the same way on EVERY FRIGGIN' PLANET |
