Hi all,
I've gotten tired of watching the various B&G (b*tch and gripe) threads about there being a lack of a CCP supplied roadmap, not that those threads are wrong, but they also aren't productive. There is a fair amount of content that we know to expect, some of which we even have a reasonable idea of when we'll get. My hope is to put this all together into one place.
If I've missed either an item or an expected feature, please let me know and I'll try to update the main post.
DROPSUITS: Caldari Heavy Suits - SoonGäó Galante Heavy Suits - SoonGäó Minmitar Heavy Suits - SoonGäó
Caldari Heavy Racial Specialization suits - SoonGäó Galante Heavy Racial Specialization suits - SoonGäó Minmitar Heavy Racial Specialization suits - SoonGäó
Amarr Light Suit and Scout Specialization - SoonGäó
(proposal by CPM to use placeholder art till proper assets could be produced ... denied by CCP to the best of my knowledge)
Amarr Heavy Suit, Second Racial Specialization - (Commando) - Uprising 1.2 (unconfirmed)
Any pilot suits - SoonGäó
VEHICLES: Amarr racial DropShips - SoonGäó Minmitar racial DropShips - SoonGäó
Amarr racial Tanks - SoonGäó Minmitar racial Tanks - SoonGäó
Amarr racial LAVs - SoonGäó Minmitar racial LAVs - SoonGäó
Any "jets" - SoonGäó
MTAC - after SoonGäó
WEAPONS: Caldari Assault Rifle - SoonGäó Minmitar Assalt Rifle - SoonGäó
MODULES: Stealth Modules - SoonGäó Deployable Shield Barrier - SoonGäó
Ferroscale Armor Plates - (less armor bonus, but no movement penalty) - Uprising 1.2 (unconfirmed) Reactive Armor Plates - (less armor bonus, small inherent armor rep bonus, less movement penalty) - Uprising 1.2 (unconfirmed)
ENVIRONMENT: Fire back at EVE players from DUST514 ground-side - after SoonGäó
More Maps - SoonGäó
Better Matchmaking - SoonGäó
PvE - not so SoonGäó
Player Market (sell the items you have and don't want, buy the items other have and want to sell) - SoonGäó
Looting Vehicles (hey, CCP likes it) - SoonGäó
* in the interests of keeping things "consistent" to CCPs communication (or lack thereof): SoonGäó = so far as we know these are the pipeline and could show up in 1-6 months not so SoonGäó = in development, but probably coming longer than 1-6 months away after SoonGäó = not in the pipeline any time soon
If I missed something, or you have additional information links I can add, please let me know. (queue the "why bother", "everything is SoonGäó" and "the game is dying anyway because of X" posts) |

Darth-Carbonite GIO wrote:Excellent job. Of course, the accuracy of this list is yet to be determined, but I really appreciate the effort you put into it.
Too true. The list is MOSTLY things that were included in the FanFest keynote, things we've seen in other videos since (E3, new promo, etc.) and things they've told us to "expect" (player market). Until we see actual patch release notes, there really isn't any way of knowing what will happen when (unless CCP puts an end to this thread through more communication), but I figured it would be worthwhile for the community to put this all in one place. Chances are CCP has a doc similar to this that they've even shown the CPM, but unfortunately we, the community at large, have to make due with what we can cobble together.
Another Heavy SOB wrote:Iron Wolf Saber wrote:I would show you my list but its a breach of interest now. Which is why sometimes I wish you weren't a CPM.. No offense. And what's the point of appointing people to communicate what's going on then Duct tape their mouths shut. Honestly sometimes I think they appointed you just to shut you up. On a side note: If they don't have all or atleast placeholder models for all missing dropsuits this games going to lose even more player's. 1 Dropsuit for an Entire class in a full release? Really, that's acceptable?
Well, thats more a question of what the role of the CPM *IS*. So far as I know, the role of the CPM is to represent the communities interest with CCP in regard to development, NOT to be a conduit for information from CCP to the community.
In order to represent the community interests, CCP shares much more with the CPM (who in return have to sign NDAs). The problem then hits that CCP (or at least the part involved with Dust), has been rather poor at communicating with us, and the CPM WANT to tell us what they've seen, and can't, so the only thing they can do is say "wait guys, things are happening" which just makes them sound like CCP ... which unfortunately doesn't usually help, since most of the community sees them and says "okay, what's happening, tell us!" ... and the CPM can't because of the NDA.

It's probably the most specific source but it doesnt everything and is focused on core FPS elements.
In the e3 presentation video, you can also see more accurate info on things such as the new weapon range system. All those "rapid fire" updates they mention are supposed to come at a monthly rythm. So everything in that video is supposed to be a <6 month ETA.
Anyway, good post :)
I'll take the "good post" from a CPM member or two as a good sign ... that hopefully I'm getting most of the outstanding items (outside of things like "new welcome screen" ... somehow I don't think that's a bullet point people will be excited about).
I think the community will be happier once they actually see regular releases ... so far we've only heard (through a third party taking a video of CCP )) that we should expect more regular releases.

Anyway, good post :) As I feared... autumn... what ******* came up with the brilliant idea to call till build a release? CCP have already stated that they are focusing on the PS3 this year and the next. But since things are very disappointing, hordes believe there is some secret work on a PS4 version for the release day, and want it official, 'cause "everyone can see that this is happening" or something.
CCP hasn't really commented much on non-content issues (bug fixes/enhancements), except to say that they are working on making the game better. I'm sure they want to solve issues, I only hope they'll be able to solve them quickly and completely. |

Road map is just new features and gear, you can't predict when bugs will be found. They just have to try and fix them as they are found and keep looking for more.
...
Absolutely, its hard to place a timeframe on bug fixes (depending on the bug, obvious ones get fixed quickly, or at least you know what you need to do to fix it ... fixing it might be difficult).
Ten-Sidhe wrote:...

Too true. I've been trying to cover those sorts of things in the "mechanics" section since they didn't really fit anywhere else.
I've added Corp roles, and moved the player market entry down there also (as well as a few others). |

Aiming fixes aren't coming in 1.2, but we're looking to get them out soon after (as in 1.3 or later). There will be gun balancing in 1.2 and we look forward to your feedback on that.
Does this include the fix for the MD that we have been told has been fixed but is waiting on the next big update to deploy I hope that has been included in this patch. Also is it just me or does it seem like balancing the weapons then fixing them seems like the backwards way of doing things.
I haven't read anything about the MD fix, so I don't know. If you (or anyone) finds information, tack it to the thread in a post and I'll update the OP, thats the purpose of all this, to try to let the community put all the disparate pieces of information CCP tells us together.
As for balancing, then fixing ... it does seem backwards, but it depends what is being balanced, and how (range changes? damage changes? RoF or Magazine changes?) Until I see something actually posted saying whats being done, I'm withholding comment. Heck, maybe they're buffing the laser rifles a bit

Bump for the weekend crowd.
Not really a confirmation of something "upcoming soon", but a screenshot in the latest DevBlog on map development looks like the player may be in a Caldari Heavy suit w/an HMG.
Not updating the main threads because of this, since it is unconfirmed, but it would be nice if the Caldari Heavy suit were at least up to the point of being tested internally. |

Could be a militia suit, but I'll take that under advisement. Could also be a suit without any modules, or with a much better movement rate than the Amarr heavy, but much less HP, while still being able to wield a HEAVY weapon.
I'd be rather annoyed though that we keep hearing "Oh, it takes a while to get art assets made because we have to make sure the models can interact with weapons" etc.
Why the heck would a Cal Medium model need to ever interact with a HEAVY weapon?
If they wasted ART time making sure things worked for a Dev Hack ... while telling us to be patient about the missing Racial DropSuits (not saying its impossible, since they might say "all weapons must be usable with Cal Med frame for testing, which I understand, but is less fun/interesting)
So I'm still hoping that its a Cal Heavy model being run in Development. (but I fully acknowledge it might not be and will update the references to it to mention that) |

That said, that was a tremendous amount of compiling you did there, so good job!
I agree it not really a Roadmap, and I would happily see it replaced by something CCP maintained, even if it did the same sort of a job (if they actually DID maintain it), but CCP seems to tend to tease features out with rough time frames of 3-6 months, 1 year, or longer. Barring CCP actually giving us some idea of how far along certain features are coming, all we (the community) can do is keep a list of the things they've shown us that we haven't seen released, and if we see things that indicate those features are getting "close", we can try to get excited.
That said, if you see something better from CCP, or an item I missed, drop a link. |

Update to the "mechanics" including some points by CCP Hans that the Roadmap CCP have kindly shared with us is in order of priority (honestly, not sure I realized that or not, but it IS worth noting). It is also worth noting that Hans' blog is worth reading.
I also upped the status for dropsuits in 1.3. Bluntly, I'm expecting something (new Racial Heavy or Pilot) in 1.3 or 1.4 ... If it is in 1.3, then we'll probably (hopefully) here about it as we get closer to the expected release date in late July/Early Aug (I wouldn't really expect to hear anything until at least after the current Events finish playing out).

The Minmitar vehicles also look like "Artist Renderings" judging by the white under them, and the jaggies around the edge of the picture (looks more like a cut/paste/cleanup versus a rendering they could just grab and use specifically for the slide).

For the most part the CPM members can't really divulge anything that CCP hasn't already revealed.
That said, reading Han's blog and some of the comments by the CPM members can give certain hints about things to expect.

Also a couple things I noitced, you have it listed as "Stealth modules" and even the deployable shield listed under modules. Both are going to be used in equipment slots. And in that video that showed the combat rifle in the kill feed you can also see the Gallente RDV, not that many people are excited for that.
Not that I know what CCP is thinking, but I'm guessing they picked Cal and Gal as the basic "Shield Tanking/Armor Tanking" duo.
Outside of the tanking type, they are relatively similar, which means they can deploy those vehicles first to see what adjustments they need to make, versus Amarr and Minmitar vehicles which should play differently. I have no idea what they plan to do in the future, remember when it comes to vehicles, all we've seen is what they showed at FanFest, but yeah, unless they change the pattern they've been going with, I would expect to see Cal and Gal versions of future vehicle classes come out ahead of Amarr and Minmitar type.
(hey, once they get the basics of LAV, LAV, and DS done, they COULD decide to hold off and release all races at the same time ... who knows?)
I've lumped Stealth modules and deployable Shield Barriers under "modules" because, in my way of thinking, Equipment is just one more Module type (High, Low, Equipment). I suppose the same could be said of weapons, but they seem to have a more unifying element (do damage to others) vs. equipment which is all over the place, the same as other modules (to my way of thinking anyway).
Hmmm Hadn't seen the Galllente RDV, yeah ... people are really clamoring for that. Actually, its sad, we've seen footage of the Gal RDV going back for a while and it hasn't been released. Its probably the easiest way to know when you're looking at the Dev server footage |
