was a locked post so i had to post elsewhere, but this is the FIRST time ive seen more than just a couple hours notice to an extended downtime.
ive been whining and moaning about lack of communications, and this was actually one of my points of aggravation, that they couldnt let us know any sooner on extended downtimes.
now if only they would let us know whats going on about the respecs... and follow through on some of those 'devblog soon TM' comments they love to make
i take this as a step in the right direction. its something at least |

To be fair, most extended downtime is unexpected, thus the lack of advance warning.
Also, on providing feed back they have assured us that they will step up their game, starting the... 20th? I think.
Let's hope they can keep that promise. |

templar manhunt had an extended downtime to kick it off, didnt see about it until about 3 hours early?

tell me that was unexpected... they knew it was going to be launching, and if they werent sure it was going to fit in regularly scheduled downtime, they could make an announcement anyways, and if it DOESNT go long, no harm no foul... give people more warning than just a couple hours,
i dont often play at that hour of the day, but i do like being told ahead of time whats coming out prior to logging in after an extended down time i had no idea ever happened. gives me a chance to know what my 'no-life' corp mates are going to ask me if ive seen yet when i log in for the first time... to be able to read it when i have time the day before, rather than me logging in then having to come check the forums to see what all changed before starting to play... |

Personally I don't mind if CCP doesn't "get the message" as after enough time there is a quality of strength in ignoring everyone and going your own way.
However, it might be better to wait until there is a little more in the game -- this would upgrade the fanboy/cryhard ratio and make it easier to deal with.
