Whatever happened to the idea that tanks had a certain amount of energy cells and firing your main cannon or using ahield hardeners over a period would deplete one cell and move to the next cell. If at least one cell still had power, the others would be regenerated. And some equipment for dropsuits would recharge cells if depleted or charge the cells faster. It had a more tactical approach when going into tanks. |

Basically you're talking about capacitors.
EWAR is Soon(TM), and yes I'm looking forward to having a nosferatu module on my scout suit. |

CCP talked about this idea. I remember quite clearly. It's a concept they talked about implementing about a year or 2 ago. I'm not asking it to be in game I'm just wondering what happened to it |

I reckon capacitors would be amazing to see on tanks, for example if a player could make a cap stable Tank..... no one would ever complain about tanks being underpowered, also if tanks fired shells based of capacitor charge then they could introduce a less than infinite ammo mechanic, and more of a micro managing mechanics.
This being said I would go EWAR just so I could cap drain tanks and vehicles. |

I'd like to see this for vehicles but not for dropsuits, dropsuits need to involve fast gameplay with little micromanagement. |

If Capacitor tanks became available there would have to be changed made to the vehicle modules since the currently ones could not afford to be indefinitely active, perhaps a tanks armour repper would consume a quarter of its cap and begin to recharge, a cap stable tank would be a tank that could afford to continually make use of such mods without having to retreat to recharge (that being said a tank that is being hit by plenty of AV while cycling mods would still be an easy down for skilled AVers) |

Capacitor has been one of those "coming up soon" things for a while now. Given how central it is to vehicles I would've thought they'd give it more focus. But I guess vehicles have been the red headed step children of DUST for a while, too.
I've talked about capacitor and how it might work in the past. I'm pretty excited about it. Should really change the way we think about vehicles on the battlefield. |

If they replace cooldowns (or suppliment ie have one set on cool downs one on cap use) then it could make things more interesting. |

Solaire Randash wrote: It also talks about drop ships camouflaging as other ships like a Gallente dropship posing as a Caldari using a chameleon cloaking device
That's not going to be in because we don't discriminate when it comes to shooting people down.
However, I believe the original idea was an enemy ship disguising itself as friendly |
