For example, a passive booster with one day remaining would change to 8 days when extended with another passive 7 day booster.
Today I extended a passive 30 day Omega with 5 days remaining with another passive 30 day Omega. The expected behavior was that the single entry would extend to 35 days. Instead the original "slot" with the 5 day booster stopped counting down and another second passive slot was added with the 30 day booster which was active. To be clear, I can see both boosters listed, but at no point since joining in the E3 build has extending a passive booster resulted in another slot being added or the original booster "freezing". I checked and it appears the Omega booster is being applied to my SP, so this is not an SP issue, however is this behavior expected or some glitch associated with the 30-day Omega booster?
Also, will the original booster that "froze" resume counting down when the extended booster expires?
Thanks
The old "adds-on" booster method seems to be why they put off adding boosters originally (because they said it would override your current booster). So, they added this newer method which pushes your old one down in a queue, and starts a new one immediately. I guess they figure with something like Omega boosters, you'd always want more SP sooner? It might be nice if they put a toggle-switch in where you switch to another one in the queue. Though with passive... you'll get all the booster action eventually anyway I guess.
Of course, there's a reason there's not a toggle switch.
They can assume you want whatever booster you use "now", right? If it's a special booster, this is especially true. What if you could switch boosters though? One of the traits boosters have is they constantly count down after activation. For active boosters, this means your booster does little for you after the cap, right? So what if you had an omega ACTIVE booster and some regular active boosters? With a toggle switch, you could flip over to the Omega until you hit the cap, then switch to a regular one so your Omega is put in "reserve".
I assume the current behavior is in anticipation of how they'll be using Omega active boosters (to keep people from using a time exploit to stretch it out using cheaper regular boosters). |
