Here's my idea (a composite of mine and the other minds in these forums) for an improved play progression for new and old players.
A tiered system based on your character's Total SP that would give newer players/characters a leg up to become more competive and let the more advaced player still maintain progression without the necessety to grind.
The Tiers would consist of Weekly Bonus SP cap, Tier Bonus SP cap, and an Tier Booster that is an active and passive booster. Weekly Bonus SP cap: Already in place. Tier Rollover SP cap: Your Next Tier Max SP minus Your Total SP Will be the maximum amount of SP you can save/have rollover (i.e. If your just created a new character the max amount of SP you can save is 2Mil). Tier Booster: Only in place for for Tiers 1 & 2 to accelerate new character/player initial growth.
Weekly Tier Rollover Tier Total SP Bonus cap Max SP Booster 1 0.5-1.5 Mil 400K 2.0 Mil 0.5 2 1.5-2.5 Mil 300k 2.5 Mil 0.2 3 2.5-4.0 Mil 250k 3.0 Mil 0.0 4 4.0-6.0 Mil 225K 3.5 Mil 0.0 5 6.0-UP Mil 200k 4.0 Mil 0.0
I would appreciate any input and or questions. |

Looks like an actually good idea. Numbers need tweaks ofcourse but not a bad idea. Really hard to see though would you mind doing the spreadsheet on google docs i can't differ the numbers in the current state |

I said this ages ago and I have no doubt others have too. The idea was burned but I offer you my support nonetheless. |

Darn! And here I was thinking I came up with something original...didn't have too much luck searching the 20k + topics. It was worth a shot. Maybe it needs reviving? |

Ahh ok so let me understand this right. When a player is between 0.5-1.5 mill sp his weekly cap will not be ~200K but instead 400K and his SP earn per game will be boosted by 0.5 which i'm guessing is 50% ?? And then the total amount of SP you can "save" in your rollover state (kind of hard to explain you did it better than me ) is then a maximum of 2 mill SP. Still only as long as the player is between 0.5-1.5 mill SP
Then when the player reaches 1.5 mill he'll go into next tier where weekly cap is 300K SP max rollover is 2.5 and boost is 25% right ?
and so on it goes if i've understood you right
GREAT IDEA !!!! I really like it. This together with an extension for how long people can stay in the academy battles will greatly enhance new players ability to catch up to older players. On another positive side it wouldn't require a major major overhaul of the entire SP system either. Of course numbers maybe need tweaking a bit (looks fine to me but CCP can do the maths ) but the overall idea is very good.
On the bad side this would mean in the very long run people would of course get all the skills in the game a lot faster but as we haven't seen half the skills yet i don't think that'll be a problem DEVS LOOK AT THIIIIS !! |

I don't know if I completely endorse the amount of rubber-banding here, but I do support some of it with some sort of active XP booster (probably cap it lower than the equation here) and a more weighted cap. I don't want it to be too easy to catch up, and I don't want to ever completely negate the advantage that having been here and having been 'loyal' and 'into' Dust for the whole time.

Like I this is just the idea really. I definitely think the numbers need to be tweaked. I just wanted to see what people thought about the idea. Hopefully the DEV's will like this and implement something similar in the future. I'm not standing be these numbers by any means, just throwing my 2 cents out there. |
