It'd be similar to a leveling system, but instead of just leveling up, it would be able to decrease based on player performance. I think this would solve the current problem with matchmaking.
Players with a low mercenary rating would get matched up with players with similar ratings, and players with a higher mercenary rating would get paired with players with a similar rating.
As a mercs rating gets higher, the chance of receiving officer weapons as salvage at the end of a match would be greater.
And also, when, and if, a commander mode is added, players with a higher rating would be able to apply for the position, similar to MAG.
A player's Mercenary Rating would be displayed alongside the characters' name.
Low rating = Blue
Medium Rating = Green
High Rating = Red
Those are just the color codes. The actual Mercenary rating would be a number. It would look something like this.
Name Corporation Mercenary Rating
Ollurd Gallente Cerberus Network. 28 (It would be green)
0 - 20 = Blue
20 - 40 = Green
40 = 60 = Red
What do you guys think about this? Do you think it would help with sorting out matchmaking? |

Good idea, but how would ratings change?
The rating system would also be a great way to deal with AFKers |

Average damage dealt during a match, kills, deaths etc., basically it would use all of those stats that currently come up at the end of a match. |

If a player with a blue rating joined a squad where the squad leader has a green rating, he'd be able to play in that tier. but if he's just going solo, he'll just be matched up with equally skilled players hopefully.

Works for me. I would have more fun playing people at my level which would be blue. If you started using proto you should quickly move up to green and so on. |

Simple, the matchmaking system would team a good player or two with a couple mediums and more bads, same with the other team. For squads, an average would be taken and matched with another squad near or around that average.
Too many games happen where one team is full squads and the other is a bunch of solo scrubs. There needs to be a system in place that balances full squads vs full squads. |
