Well the thing is if they port it to PS4 they will have a gap between players on PS4 and PS3. if the PS4 could handle CARBON and all the things CCP could do to Dust then that would leave PS3 users at a huge disadvantage. CCP Shanghai is making Dust and im pretty sure their nowhere as big as CCP headquarters in Rekeyavik so production would be even slower or nonexistent on PS3 completely
Because of the major difference in hardware PS3 owners would get the short end of the stick. Unlike now with EVE the PC players are playing a completely different game, how will this be if PS4 and PS3 owners play the same game. If PS4 get bigger better less gliched maps and modes and features the PS3 cant handle this would be like PS4 players playing in this luxurious sandbox and PS3 owners are stuck in a crappy playpin, eventhough there the same game.
Regardless of how good the PS4 is the the number of PS4 owners wont surpass PS3 owners owners at launch. Many PS3 owners, nay console owners both PC, Xbox, PS, or wii WILL NOT abandoned the working hardware they spent money on just to buy the next big thing. I didnt get a PS3 til my PS2 broke.
Last why would CCP Abandon the current playerbase they have to chase some speculation about PS4 ownership at launch.
All in all they might begin work on a PS4 version but it wont e launched til they are sure that the PS4 base is large enough and many of the PS3 base has switched. **** PS3. CCP told me one day,"hey *******, get a better computer because we are doing away with classic EVE client. You either upgrade or you don't play." I upgraded. Why should it be any different with DUST? If you are not buying a PS4 when it comes out due to whatever reason you have, you are a poor bastard, I already payed mine off. PS3 is old, too old to make DUST good, CCP needs to realize this and say screw PS3, come get some on PS4 launch day.
