Listen to the first few minutes and what he talks about. Also remember the they turned off FF and pushed it back into alpha testing because it wasn't good enough.

CCP doens't have a clue how to advertise their product. Instead of focusing on their truly unique features, they pretended they had features like live events and EVE interaction that mattered. Furthermore they are terrified to talk to us, as if their customers have no right to disagree with their vision of EVE on the ground, but more grind. |

This is the only thing that will save dust from itself (not hiring cute girls) I was there for the FFXIV beta, it was so bad that SE had to put highly anticipated games like Deus Ex (funny in hindsight) on hold to fix that mess. They even extended the free trial indefinitely to try and keep people playing. Dust 514 is nowhere near as bad as the original incarnation of that game was and the only reason why it went back to beta was because SE is circling the drain. |

I was talking about the communication specifically not which game was worse in beta. |

You mean SE's communication skills they finally picked up after trolling the community after unleashing a 36 hour boss fight, an unbeatable notorius monster, and permabanning hundreds of paid subscribers for exploiting a known glitch back in FFXI? Yeah, I don't want CCP to learn anything from SE. |

and, at least from news and some people who broke nda and then got shut down hard, the current beta is better than the original game by leaps and bounds.
this should go back to beta, at least then they'd be honest about the state of the game. |

coming from this FF fan who unfortunately bought two copies of the @#$%& collector's edition... dust isn't really that bad lol. maybe that's why I'm able to appreciate dust. I've seen way worse. the only other fps you could drag me back into right now is TF2. |

Don't get me wrong though, OP. I see the point you're trying to make, but from my experiences with SE, they're a horrible example to base that point on. |

Here here, this is a pretty bad example. And their forums are almost entirely absent of trolls...because they clear them. Plus we're talking responses that are more of subtle suggestions and threads that are about a sliver the quantity of Dust 514 (and Eve's) size to filter through...and they still manage to respond and communicate...
honestly, I've never played a game with more personal community support. Even some of the best indie games get less love than Dust gets on it's forums.
As for advertising, I totally agree...it's CCP's greatest flaw. They've just always been horrible at advertising. Honestly, that Eve: Origins trailer was about the best thing I've ever seen them pull off. ^^ |

I can agree on the terms that if it comes down to it, taking the game back into beta stage would be great. Re-Release the game on the date ps4 release for 3 and 4. There will be plenty of people who will not purchase a ps4 till later on anyway. Either way. This gives them an excuse and a reason to talk about the game and why. |

Have you been here for 14 months and seen every new player bring the same issues and complaints? Did you notice that cpm ironwolf honestly told us that CCP shanghai that is responsible for most of the dust dev work has no interest in listening, our feedback, communication with us.
I was around eve before and after incarna and I see how the eve side of the house has become so much better. Dare I say they do a pretty good job. The dust side could give a **** about what feedback and we can see what a **** job they do when its just up to them. It's like they don't even play the game |

That's actually the point. FF was **** and SE ignored and reacted ******** to its players. Now they are doing a lot more interaction with the community. A few of my friends that have been back in since alpha have said SE at least listens now where before they didn't. Do they always get what they want from SE? no but they feel like they have been heard. |

Past tense mind you. It's complicated ordeal but one way to put it is that some devs are afraid to open up to you guys. Its one of the main tasks of the cpm though is to increase the value of opening up dialoge even if nothing useful comes out it like that sky spawning discussion months back.
Forums do get read. @%%&posting is very harmful to the feedback process. Swarm posting is just as bad. But good well discussed posts are goldmines the devs love. |

There is difference between creating a communication/feedback loop and just blatantly ignoring us. Mind you the same **** that everyone has said for last 14 months was even said by the game reviewers.
The other thing is ccp is trying to hard to make dust just eve on the ground and that's a mistake. They need to apply eve lore better to the fps/rpg mechanics.
I appreciate all your effort Ironwolf but I for one think dust will die a slow death because its just too late to save it |
