I have been thinking of ways to make PC more enjoyable for everyone. I have been inspired by the game (Risk legacy http://boardgamegeek.com/wiki/page/Risk_Legacy_FAQ )
There are some great ideas we can borrow from and make work for dust.
Planets and districts need to work more like risk in that you can only attack neighboring districts from a beach head and neighboring planets. Then we need special starred districts that give bonuses for ownership own 1 of these starred districts and you get an extra 25 clones on all attacks/or defense(work in progress) each consecutive starred district owned adds another perk maybe culminating in some huge perk( to be determined)
Other districts would offer officer weapons horber v would have gastun hmg ( 1 for every member of the corp not just the ones playing making the corp excited for the wins as well) have to hold it for 7 days to qualify or some thing.
1.) Instead of three or so pre-determined same time matches make them 2 different skirmish maps and then a final winner takes all domination map played back to back with 10 min intervals.
2.) Let's add some wild card ideas at the begging of the saga 16-100 cards or perks are available to the two teams The two FC choose a 3 numbers one after each other alternating picks so of the 16-100 available perks 6 will be used the rest are dismissed. ( something could be on the war barge screen so we. Would see the 16-100 cards visually or something)
3.) Here is the fun part sample card ideas for in match perks A.) Fc has the ability to instant drop 16 milita tanks at any point in the saga ( that can't be recalled so if an enemy gets one he can hack it or you gotta blow them up) this would be a cool way for a team loosing to turn the battle. B.) Fc can add 50 clones to the clone count. C.) 1 or more free orbital strikes to be used on demand. D.)same as a but drop ships, or lavs. E) you guys get the idea help me out try to make them simple things ccp may be able to do relatively easy. Add yours. |

Eh. Takes away from the causality of Manufacture/Logistics/Military. Why manufacture weapons when owning a district provides - passively - a higher grade? We need more interaction between Eve and Dust and if it's as simple as Eve players manufacturing small arms, that'd be a much better alternative for the state of the games' connectivity and PC as a lasting feature. If the only way to receive manufactured arms is through the ownership of a district, it would give greater incentive.
Complicating the district system with things like passive bonuses only works to the benefit of larger alliances and power blocs who can afford the numbers (players, that is) to keep them under their flag. Providing things like Officer weapons would only further upset this balance. Bonuses should work to give incentives, not advantages. |

For some reason I thought wildcard ringers. A few random mercs looking for pubs get thrown into PC.
I'd buy that for a dollar. |

HowDidThatTaste wrote:I just want to see PC work better I just want to see... something...anything showing that CCP is trying to improve things.
there is so much that could be done, and this is a great idea as well, but the sad truth is all the great input we give and what we would love to see still needs to take a backseat to addressing the current state of the game.
I do like the ideas tho, even if something like this was only on certain planets.
the biggest thing is to A) fix the crap going on now and B) finding motivation to get more corps into PC.
its a great $ maker for corps and it can be affordable for most now as well, but ppl don't care cause of all the problems with the game itself |

Good idea seriously, the wild card add good variety in game.
Here's some idea for wild cards :
- Deployable installation (turrets) at chosen location - Extra players possible (20 instead of 16). - Extra damage for limited time like 1 minute.
Another possible way to go to improve to PC regarding how it could be more interesting would be an MMO aspect, so when you go attack the neighbour district, you actually deploy in your own district and need to use vehicles to travel to the defender's district, which give defenders the chance to prepare them-self on the map. For sure it would make the game harder for the attacker since all points would be already "owned" by the defenders, and attacker would need to find approach tactics.
First gun fire done by the attacker on a defender (infantry or installation), would trigger the null cannon shooting at the MCC and game timer.
During game, if defenders loose all their spawn location, they basically loose their base as right now. From that point, I am just unsure about the MCC spawn point, since the defender would have been kicked out of their base. Since they had the avantage to start with all null cannon, they should maybe loose the battle if they get them all hacked.
This is probably out of your proposal, but idea flowing could bring great merged ideas and a good result in some way.

@martinofski great ideas. I think even now allowing the defender a 2 minute head start would really go a long way to giving the advantage to the defender. Also it would make attacking corps learn new tactics to assault well defended locations. |

I really dislike pretty much the entirety of this idea, the main reason being that adding any kind of random element affecting matches detracts from the result being created by the tactics and skills of the teams and players involved.
Additionally, the part about getting an officer weapon per player in the corp hugely hugely favours big corps. |

You have some valid points, but in its current state its not enjoyable anything you can add that may increase that? |

Still think that every 100 matches a giant Jove behemoth should rise up from the ground and attack every one.
Also instead of red lines we should have Dune sand worms. |

Once latency, hit detection and core gameplay are addresses, I think the addition of different maps and even a 'capital' on each planet would be cool.
This 'capital' would be a game in which the defender had a distinct advantage, whether it be more clones, a way to customize turret/depot/cru placement, headstart...something of that nature would be interesting.
The attacker would require holding a district majority on the planet before having the ability to attack the capital, and the capital could be the district that produces officer weapons (perhaps not 1 for each member as this would give an unfair advantage in some cases)
Or some kind of incentive for holding the capital.
Lots of cool things they could do with this but I see this all as a 'down the road' idea. The current state is what needs to be addressed and promoting more corps getting involved and addressing core gameplay need to be at the forefront of everything
PC is the primary reason to play this game, and unfortunately there is a majority that doesn't see it that way currently |

I wouldn't say enjoyable is a reason to implement anything. The game itself is supposed to be enjoyable, adding a bunch of excuses to give one team an advantage is a terrible way to go about it. Would just make it more enjoyable for the guys who hold all the good resources - I.E. Goonswarm and the Technetium issue that lasted for months/years. |

Well said this was only a test
Enjoyable is subjective. I agree. Touching my controller with precise wiggles . Excites my senses with the control. Or does it?

I'll agree with this, let's not remove anymore real skill from the game... we get enough of that from the SP gap.
That's the thing with Risk, it's about the strategy and complete luck. I want some more strategy in the game but ideally luck should only play a very small role.
Ideally I want incentives that are not imbalancing, and giving free officer just because your in that Corp is imbalancing |

With think this is the problem we are having now. A good corp can take what they want anywhere anytime all you have to do is have the money to buy a clone pack and boom you can attack anyone.
What we need is some strategy to play a role in holding districts, and honestly my suggestions are more for the little guy or less experienced corps to have a chance against the well organized "good corps"
The idea of a wild card gives a bit of unbalance to it as it sits now lag aside 16 strong players can't beat corps with hundreds of average payers.
I'm not saying my ideas are the way to go I'm just offering up some new ideas to help us fix PC so that more people want and can play it. So any ideas you may have please keep bringing them up. |

any idea is worth talking about i don't agree with this one as i don't like the bounces not coming from something in game if you know what i mean
another idea
this one might work in the long term when more space is available with bigger corps moving out into deeper space, and could add EVE/DUST coordination with ISK incentive but not transfer |
