For the love of Oden's beard, just give us some respectable weapons ranges in this game already. The current weapon ranges are fine IMO, a lot of people were spoiled by sharpshooter. But if they're going to increase effective ranges, rifles need more kick and dispersion to compensate since they don't seem interested in implementing damage falloff outside of a weapon's optimal. If they do go with falloff HMGs could probably be buffed up to some decent damage so they can dominate in their own optimal like they're supposed, get a their range buffed back up to their original base in Chromosome to actually be threatening to do some crowd control and ARs can still have the advantage at a distance as intended, this would also be beneficial to sidearms as well. Lasers and SCRs need a flat out range buff for the sake of balance. Damage is good for the lasers, but they need to be the answer to TAC ARs and the SCR should have the range advantage over the AR class since ARs will always beat them in raw DPS. |

Well IMO, your opinion sucks. And they already do have damage falloff. It's just that the ranges in this game are so short that you don't really notice it most of the time. I would like to see damage falloff extended as well, in addition to a 30 or so meter range buff (for assault type weapons that is, all other weapons can take a percentage que from there). Gallente weapons are meant to be short/mid range, high DPS. But aside from the SCR, it's the only other choice until it gets split up into the other racial variants. Once we get the CBR and Gauss, things will get more interesting when it comes to choosing what AR to use. But SCR still needs to have better range than the current AR, someone needs to throw it a bone. |
