I see alot of people trying to get a HP buff. Personally I think that is a horrible way to go about it.
1. I do not think of dropships as a vehicle built for tanking damage.
What do I see dropships as. 1. They are the helicopter of today world. So they should cover helicopter troupe transport positions, Helicopter stealth missions and helicopter gunships. 2. Logi and standard are troupe transport. They both need to have little better tanking ability then the Assault. 3. Assault dropships is the gunship. It needs put fear into ground troupes. But if a pilot hovers to long or makes itself a easy target for AV it should be swiftly dealt with. 4. All dropships should really be able to put fear in infantry. Infantry should see a dropship and go oh **** I need to get in cover. Currently I do not even think twice because it is so hard to hit a person in the first place and ontop of that the damage is not that great usually. 5. Assault dropships should be faster then swarms and have no trouble outrunning them. Forge should be their scare. 6. Logi dropships should be slower and have trouble with swarms unless using a dedicated afterburner.
What needs to happen
1. Assault needs its damage boost up to 5 Percent per lvl 2. All dropships need to boost blaster range by 100% 3. Railguns need to become more accurate and do 100% damge to vehicles and have the longest range. 4. Missiles need a 30-40% blast radius buff and a 15% damage buff accross the board. 5. Small modules need to be reworked to be better both shield and armor. 6. Dropships need to stop making gameplay laggy and FPS drop.(currently a huge issue at times) 7. Dropships should not be so floaty. THey need way better handling. You should be acting like a heli not a damn hot air ballon.(This floaty stlye flight really makes it impossible to do any third person flying). 8. Draw distance is horrible and currently you can get AV outside your sight range and not know where it is coming from. 9. Passive spotting needs to be better. A dropship should have the best passive spotting skills in the game. Birds eye view.
Why do I say this. Well dropships should be the number one feared asset currently.
Their is no future in them in PC or competitive gameplay.
Saying that oh but the future of being a troupe transport. Horrible horrible excuse. They will never be truely effective as just a troupe transport. Why because drop uplinks. Why dedicate a guy to flying around doing nothing but transporting when I can just drop in a millitant Dropship fly to where I need to be and spam uplinks all around the objective. In the future Millitant fighters can be used to do this also and get accross the map much faster. And drop the uplinks with less risk.
Dropships should be a feared by infantry. But when they make mistakes they should fall out of the sky quickly to AV. This makes them valuble because they can come in clear out a area as they drop off their cargo(AKA mercs) If good AV comes out the dropships should have his handsfull and one mistake equals his death. |

I refuse allow the second coming of the AC-100. Those were horrible days my friend I will agree that. This will not do that.
First off the passive damage multiplayers is what caused that because CCP made a huge mistake. YOu where gaining 190% more damage from small missile turrets alone with skills So this is far from that this is bringing them back to precursor. |

Experience: I've been the turret gunner in dropships a fair amount of time. Now question alot of kills on millitant gear and standard. or proto.
You forget my goal is to have them useful in PC. Everyone runs proto gear their. So the damage means that they can handle playing proto players. If it gets to powerful CCP should have it set up so they can data mine and slowly drop the turret damage. so Assault dropships fully pimped out is performing on lvl with proto suits players. |

Your buffs are far too extreme in most cases.
Also, Assault Dropship is NOT a gunship.
Just look at its design, it is NOT a proper attack platform. The only reason people put up any numbers with them is lack of proper AV on the enemy team, or no one spawning in a militia dropship and crashing into them, like they should.
And this is why dropships will never be where they should be the handling is far from fine. Handling was fine in precursor. Handling here is sup par if that.
Sorry but assault dropships are the gunships of the heli world here in Dust. SO they need to act like one. |

Yea, because CCP doesn't want to design a real gunship, they would rather use cheap bandaids than actually make real vehicles. Handling has only gotten better; more difficult, but better. Minus the whole, nerf the hell out of standard and logi responsiveness. Why they did that is beyond me...oh wait...bandaids.
Really I think they need to make a rehaul to the assault dropship keep a similar look to the others but give them a few noticable differences and to make them look more gunshipish. I kind of against the pilot operated turret would rather have a medium turret on the front that is ran by a gunner. THen I can concentrate on flying.
They had handling right at one point felix. Precursor. It was very hard to do but as you mastered it your skills payed off. Right now it does not pay mastering dropship flight. YOu float through corners making it impossible to make tight turns in close spaces. |
