The new trailer shows off a lot of stuff they have been promising for a long time. When do we get more accessories like the mouse and keyboard setup they already have out though

Too bad there's not a thread on here that lists all these updates and a timeline of when we may possibly see them. Why do we have to wait for an E3 presentation to hear this? How many players are actually going to see this? Everybody on here is crying out for better communication. I think beyond all the bugs, the gameplay, the missing features, and the broken features, if CCP would just tell us something more specific than "we're looking into that soonTM" that they would please a large portion of the remaining community. |

18:15 I hope that this guy speaks bad English, because he said that the commando heavy is supposed to wield two heavy weapons.
Ooh, that would be fun. XD |

This is linked in another thread with a summary of the main points in the vid and some discussion (it has been pushed to the second page of the forum now though):
https://forums.dust514.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=86879&find=unread
Personally, I'm most looking forward to the "Craters" terrain map with new battlegrounds mentioned at 22:20 in the vid. |

This video worries me. Not because of what he said but what he doesn't say.
The rapid fire updates will be great.
Im not sure another start up screen with more stats on it is something we even need. But oh well.
The big ticket item is 2 new facilities to play in. This is the only step in the right direction.
Seems to be a wierd, inexplicable lack of art assets in Dust. I wonder why. I mean they've been working on this game since 2006, and yet Gallente Heavy suits are apparently still in the concept art stage. What gives?

I could be very wrong, but it seems like making racial variants for the suits was more of an afterthought. |

It does seem odd how little art is coming out of dev and into Dust. I'm not sure what gives.
The lack of art has already forced CCP to go against their better judgement and start using the DS as a catch-all air role vehicle. Transport, triage, assault, bombing? All this because their art team couldn't finish jets and make new bombers. Additionally we still don't even have the Skills for amarr/mimn vehicles at all! Which is a shame because some of us were forced to either sit on millions and millions of SP, or quit playing dust while we wait a year or two for those :(
Most of this racial var. holdup is over art as well. So like yeah. What's going on? It's already negatively affecting game design and balance as they work around the lack of art. We all know CCP never intended to do anything like assault or bomber drop-ships and probably for a good reason. This is not good.

I was under the impression that racial variants of all class suits have been planned from the beginning. The Caldari logi is currently a repainted Caldari assault and the Minmatar assault is currently a repainted Minmatar logi, etc. I think the original intention was to have unique models for these. |

The "Rapid fire updates" should started about a month ago ... just saying. And personally i'm a bit worry about CCP's concept of "Rapid Updates"... I won't be surprise if it is a new Dropsuit every month.. or something stupid like that.
Sorry... but my faith in this game is very low. It is a case of ; " I'll believe it when I see it " |

No it was promiced in 2006 during the first dust reveal in fanfest.
In fact the opposite is true, CCP gave a strong impression in 2009/10 that every race was going to get a scout, a heavy, a logistics and an assault. You should watch the 2011 and 2012 fanfest videos relating to dust. See what was promoised and now look at the game.
In 2012 they revealed thier "frame idea" which was the first time anyone heard of that.
Im not in 'the industry" but I do play and follow games closely. CCP seem slower than most when it comes to art assets. That being said Dust seems to be struggling with gettin art to its players, more so than most.

Well I stand corrected.
It's been four years and the art isn't completed? I'm not certain what to say. That's long enough for me to attend a college and get a degree in making dropsuit art... and likely produce the missing frames as my thesis.
Which, obviously, is preposterous. |

Rapid updates are rolled out on a daily basis every extended downtime since Uprising... This means almost every day...
I wonder if CCP will get any accolades when the game becomes more "ironed out"... Many whine when things get bad. This is typical "victim attitude". If you feel this game needs more work, test it and constructively contribute to Technical Support/Bugs sub-forum. You are creator of your reality. And always have been. Stop pretending you are a victim of it
And yet some "pressure" is apparently necessary |

And that is what worries me...they going to start to add core content in the game with "Rapid Updates". Lets not forget, that NONE of the core content has been tested in the Beta, and Uprising is a completely new build anyway.
The full thing looks messy. |

The full thing looks messy. Every software company, CCP included, has it's own QA department. On what merit do you postulate the new stuff is not tested? If you want to have a glimpse of inside working of CCP have a look at this: http://www.perforce.com/customers/success-stories/ccp-games It is "a customer success story" on Perforce webpage.
Perforce is a provider of version control system. Here is a list of other companies using Perforce: http://www.perforce.com/customers/customer-index Amnog them: NASA Boeing Lockheed Martin GE Cisco HP IBM NYSE

You wan't CCP to fix DUST or not? Your ambiguity is very confounding... If snafu is "normal" for CCP and you are observing this for such a prolonged time (apparently longer than me) to a point of loosing all hope, why are you hanging here? You must like to suffer. Suffering is the name of my game friend, you have no clue
I am flattered you found that post so fast though lol. All I'm saying is I've watched how CCP "fixes" things. Every time a new patch hits or we get new content, we get riddled with unforseen bugs and balancing issues that take months to fix, and when they're finally fixed, they're typically nerfed into obscurity, further enforcing the idea that "your decisions matter"
