There isn't a lot in there for us, is the sad part. But I'll share what I got:
New Suit Specialization: Commando
Amarr Commando ak.0 suit spotted at the fitting screen in the video. Prototype has:
2 Hi Power Slots 1 Low Power Slot 1 Equipment Slot 1 Grenade Slot 1 or 2 Light Weapon Slot 0 or 1 Sidearm Weapon Slot
Why the confusion about the slots? Because the Heavy in the video was equipped with a Sniper Rifle and SMG. You can put a sidearm in any weapon slot you like, so there is hope yet that the suit has two Light Weapon Slots.
If it does not have two Light Weapon Slots, I'm going to venture out on a limb and say the overwhelming community response will be that the Commando Suit sucks balls. Losing the versaility of the Heavy Weapon Slot and two Low Power Slots for a single Equipment Slot is absolutely not worth it, in my humble opinion.
If it does have two Light Weapon Slots, I feel the Commando Suit just might have a bright future. I predict people will still feel it's underpowered initially, but the more creative of you will find some wicked ways to use two Light Weapons and Equipment on one suit.
By having fewer module slots but the same CPU/PG (as it seemed in the video), you could do thinks like run a Proto Sniper, Advanced shotgun, and Remote Explosives. Interesting indeed. And SP intensiveGǪ
No Gallente or Caldari Heavy
And likely no Minmatar Heavy, either. At one point in the video they scroll up the Dropsuits skill screen. We noticed the Amarr Commando there (and Scout Flight Suit, as well!), but as they pass up the skills, there was no Gallente Heavy or Caldari Heavy to be found.
They did not scroll down on the screen, but I suspect Minmatar Heavy wasn't going to be found lower. (For the record, no Amarr Scout, either.)
Armor Modules
YeahGǪnot going to touch this subject much. Suffice to say the new modules have not found a rabid fanbase yet, but there is some hope that the stats will be adjusted to something more usable before they end up on the market.
Here's hoping.
TL;DR New suit specialization, Commando, spotted in video. It will suck unless it has two light weapon slots, in which case, it will be very, very interesting.
No new racial Heavy suits. We're all stuck with Amarr still.
New armor modules are underwhelming, but there are several threadnaughts underway about changing the stats. No versatility? LOL? Now everyone gets to run around in a proto suit with a GEK and CBR7. This is exactly what the community has been whining about. Now, they won't have to pay any price or take any risk, or specialize in anything AV so they can still lolstomp noobs and take care of people that specialize in vehicles.
This is exactly what they've wanted. No risk, specialization, all reward, so they can continue to crush me and random noobs. |
