What I don't get, is there are two posibilities here:
1. You've already got a PC and can play Planetside 2. If this is the case, and you're a fan of the game, then why does it matter to you if it's on PS4 or not? How is that even an exciting thing for you?
2. You don't have a PC, and haven't experienced Planetside 2. At which point I ask you; how do you know it's any good?
Frankly, as terrible as Dust 514 is, Planetside 2 is (IMO of course) considerably worse. It's a pointless blobfest. That game feels like they've actually done what they set out to do, and it's just not really any fun and doesn't really ever feel like it has much of a point. At least with Dust 514, the main problem is that it just feels completely and utterly unfinished.
When I play Planetside 2, it just feels like a crappy game by a lackluster developer. When I play Dust 514 it plays like an early alpha build for a game that could eventually be cool.
Planetside 2 will always be a piece of junk, Dust 514 might, someday, not be terribad... eventually. |

And DUST isn't? Tell me how the random public matches have a purpose. And don't say "PC battles have a purpose!" Do they really? Mabey to the 2% that get to participate in it. I have been in PC battle before. There nothing special. Is there effect on eve? From what I hear you don't need to be part of it to make profit. In the future it might have a purpose, but atm it dose not.

That game feels like they've actually done what they set out to do, and it works, burt doesn't really ever feel like it has much of a point. With Dust 514, it feels completely and utterly unfinished.

Just change "could eventually" to "hoprfully" and I will agree with this.

Change eventually to "Hopefully." again.
So, you agree with me?
Both games are terrible.

It's very bad press to let this game fall flat on it's face for EVE and World Of Darkness. I'm sure EVE had some problems during the first year. People will get burnt out with those other games at some point and come back to this to find all new features. You've got to remember with the other games as soon as the game is out and a high enough money has been poured into it after release it will die and then Desitny 2/PS3/BF6/COD9120 will come out whereas there is no Dust 1028. Just Dust 514
If Dust 514 released on PS4 and isn't for all intents and purposes Dust 514 2, then they're screwed. There's going to need to be a HUGE jump from what we have now to the PS4 product if they hope to stand any chance at all.
The whole "we won't ever release a sequel" thing is nothing more than a semantic based sales pitch. It means absolutely nothing. |
