Complex Reactive plates 45 HP 2 HP/s 4% movement penalty 36 CPU 16 PG
Complex Ferroscale plates 60HP 39 CPU 14 PG
Gallente Logistics (Ferro build) EHP 819 (Cannot stack 5 plates because of the massive CPU/PG) Speed 4.7 CPU 318/512 PG 89/102 Shield HP/s 15 Armor HP/s 5 This build cannot equip a gun over ADV So optimal EHP is 819 if you DONT plan on using logi tools, or armor repairers. If you do prepare for a 100-150 EHP loss and a speed penalty.
Caldari Logistics (Ferro build) EHP 989 Speed 4.7 CPU 427/512 PG 101/102 Shield HP/s 20 Armor HP/s 5 This build has a lot of wiggle room even with CPU/PG constraints and can get a armor repair rate of 17.5 without going under 900 EHP, basically the Caldari are better at being Gallentes.
Gallente Assault (Ferro build) EHP 828 Speed 5.0 CPU 309/394 PG 78/79 Shield HP/s 20 Armor HP/s 0 Cannot equip anything but a ADV AR, no grenades, no side arm, no equipment, and it has 1 free slot because of how penalizing the CPU/PG is.
Caldari Assault (Ferro build) EHP 835 Speed 5.0 CPU 334/394 PG 76/79 Shield HP/s 31.25 Armor HP/s 0 Since he depends more in shields than armor he has the advantage over the Gallente when actively staying in battle, even though the EHP is actually balanced.
I did the reactive plates and they are utter garbage, so garbage that it is MORE efficient to use a basic armor plate and a complex repairer.
My conclusion: New armor plates bring more negatives that our current plates; the fact that reactives come with a movement penalty completely throws them out of being useful and the CPU/PG requirements are so terrible that they provide no benefit to the Caldari or Gallente, in fact they use so much resources that they LIMIT gameplay for both races.
Reactive and Ferroscale plates need to be the same, or under, in CPU/PG compared to our current plates. The armor values need to be higher, although testing them reveals that the current values aren't so bad BUT the repair rate for Reactive needs to be 1/2/3 not 1/1/2 whose idea was that? The IDEA behind these plates should be, Armor plates for people who want to be bullet walls or can sacrifice the speed i.e heavies, scouts, and the Minmatar, Reactive for Armor tanks who want to be actively stay in combat and keep up with the Caldari and Minmatar with this garbage you just widened the gap, Ferroscale for people who prefer HIGH HP to HP/s but do not want a penalty.

Personally I think plates need to be higher than shields considering the advantages that shields present in their ability to regenerate, and the observation that the delay for their regeneration does not require a reduction in overall shields because it's respective module is in a low slot. Armor tankers need a high slot worthy of sacrificing shields. Personally, I think the new ferroscale plates should be high slots and be higher than 66 at the comples level...say 85..allow the tradeoff of higher tank than shields for the reduction in recovery time. This would make a gallente advantageous as a tanker because he can increase the rep rate to levels no one else could. just a thought. |

Reactive plates in high slots and maybe even move PG upgrades to high slot as well, as plates are very very PG hungry. |

Putting plates in high slots so we can use PG upgrades won't fix anything, it would just add another variable to properly armor tank while Shield tanks has NONE. |

EDIT: The reason putting Reactive plates in High slots is a terrible idea is because they still carry a movement penalty, and their HP bonus is lower than shield mods, this would mean that using them to "replace" shield extenders would lead to an even wider gap in armor tanking. On top of that because most of our HP would come from armor it would remove the Shield buffer that currently gives us a fighting chance vs explosives and anything with a +% vs armor. On top of that Shield tanks would have an even better ability to switch to damage mods while maintaining higher EHP than us, so they get more HP and more damage this is not a fix but a nerf.
You must not have read my post. I'm talking about ferroscale. |

I'm talking about the post above mine. Although I see no actual benefit in putting ferroscale in High slots, except making super Armor tanks. |

The advantage is that it is a check to shields..currently people can get 679 shields and over 300 armor in a caldari logi and still carry a proto wep, proto nades, and equipment. They regenerate shields at like 20 hp/s and have a delay of 4 seconds. With my idea for armor you could have a higher tank than a shields tanker (assuming my idea to make ferroscale higher than a complex shield extender...i previously sugested like 80-5)...however you would not inherently have a way to get that hp back at a comparable rate as shields (4 sec delay for 20 some shield repair rate!?) without using 3 complex reps on a proto logi suit. which would be significant in a cpu/pg investment...only one that could pull it off would be....gallente logi...and at a cost to other portions of the suit...unlike the flavor of the month. |
