(which led to the eventual death of the game)Same story here folks and it's actually kind of sad, because I remember members of the MAG community back during the private trials warning CCP of the dangers of introducing unwarranted changes to their game.

Random bullet spread, Vipera nerfed into oblivion, Pistols turned to utter crap...
I would point to the build right before Christmas where they nerfed strafe speeds to a crawl - whatever that one was. This build is more MAG 2.0 |

Hmm sounds a lot like UC2 patch 1.04. Great games with a great concept and initial design that got distorted and absolutely derailed because of players who had no idea what makes a good game balance just kept whining till they got the game they thought they wanted. Turns out it ended up being a game nobody wanted to play.
This is the problem with public forums without expert guidance to temper it.
So yes thanks for recreating Incarna514.
Before the fanbois come in here asking for constructive criticism and feedback feel free to cylce through my post history, i've given plenty. Other than PC none of it stuck. Funny how PC mechanics is already functioning better, too bad its still relying on a shaky foundation of poor gameplay mechanics, lousy core experience, and instability.
Sigh if only these issues were taken care of first instead of the nonessential stuff like "metagame" |

I loved mag. Then they nerfed everything and made the game ****.
CCP do not let all the whiners kill the game. Work on bugs and **** before you work on balance. When you do balance, make sure you do loads of tests. |

Hmmmm, I'd kind of like for them to work on balance first imo. I am patient and can deal with technical glitches if the gameplay is fun. I don't think too many people are leaving because their controls got frozen a couple times. After all, look how many glitches are in every Bethesda game yet people still love whatever they make, because their games are fun.
I'd be okay with dc'ing every other match if it meant not getting run over 50 times in every match I did make it through, or getting forge gunned while I hack an objective by someone so far away they can't even see me but knew I was there because they were watching the letter flash, or sniped by some coward on the MCC, etc... |

What blows my mind is how they actually thought it was a good idea. How? HOW do you possibly ignore the requests for 'recoil', add 'random bullet spread' instead, have meetings about patches, business, performance, etc, write the code for it, upload it and make it happen without anyone saying how completely ridiculous it is? Did they not have a single tester play it on a private server? Did they leave it all up to an intern?
What the hell happened?!
I used to love that damn game. I know it's silly considering I'm a grown man in the military, but I genuinely felt like something close to me was taken away, lol... |

Funny. I still could kill with HG pretty well. Vipera was OP piece of hit for SVER easy mode 'leet' players. The lesson learned from MAG: when developer has to do what needs to be done regardless of what whiners say, you will end up blamed. |

And Scott Rudi is the single individual that was responsible for all of the gun tweaks.
Random bullet spread was perhaps the stupidest thing ever introduced into any shooter.

I remember getting a hold of a Vipera after it had been nerfed and absolutely wrecking everything that looked at me. I thought to myself "Holy ****... this thing was actually stronger than this at some point." |

But when threads discuss radical change that could potentially spark discussion on matters that could save the game, the majority of comments promote the current system.

When MAG was release ?.. 2010 ? They managed to loose the full community in about 2 years. Why CCP asked for advice to such a young community, beats me. They should asked for help in Veteran communities, like Counter Strike or Battlefield.. even Battlefront will been better.
They reason this game is failing, is mostly to do with MAG. |
