OK, so. since 99% of the posts in the past few days have been "OMG DUST HAZ LESS PLAYURS TODAY!", I thought I might point something out to people...
May and June are classically the worst months for all MMOs/online games due to a number of things.
1) Students (a large portion of the gaming community) have exams, final projects and other academic distractions.
2) Older players have holidays planned.
3) It's nice and sunny outside, and not everyone wants to sit glued to a videogame 24/7 for the duration of summer. (Shocking revelation to some, I know...)
4) Social gatherings and events are far more common during the summer months, and power sockets and wifi are scarce in festival fields.
DUST isn't dying. It's just going through it's first summer. Why do you think all the yearly major game releases are in November rather than mid year? It's because people are at home, miserable because it's raining with nothing to do. |

Are you saying that the reason why this game doesn't have a consistantly high number of players is because some of the players ACTUALLY HAVE LIVES!!??

HA. A flaw there. KOREAN MMO players never see the sun! Till they reach level of demi god. To which by that time they have transcended there mortal bodies, and no longer have use for them. (and it shows)

I'm not concerned really about all the hate on the forums, it is "fun" to hate on something with a bunch of other people, like when you see a cool movie with a bunch of friends and liked it but then spend the next few hours ragging on the "stupid things" about it, or with new games/etc.
People having trollylololo fun is present on every forum and in every game.

When the forums get quiet, then you know things are in trouble. |

Because I only have 3 modes to play, no PVE, the weapon types that don't feel gimmicky don't have enough variety, and the gameplay still has bugs.

If this is an MMO, then Armored Core 5 is an MMO. Dark Souls is an MMO. CoD is an MMO.
No, there is nothing about Dust 514 yet that makes it Massively Mutiplayer. It's just multiplayer. |

sharpshooter skill revised: the old sharpshooter skill gave many variants of players depending on the level of their SS skill. now that has been flattened.
too many nerfs with the release of uprising and some of the nerfs were in the %30-%40 range across multiple stats
expectations of frame rate and hit detection issues by launch were not fullfilled
hard cap on AR range: the most commonly played FPS weapon has a pistol range
MD community got sick of waiting for their splash fix |
