Nah, I'm done with that. Needles are broken, spawns are terrible, drop uplink light up like a sore thumb, game inherently gives an advantage to anyone not looking in the general direction of an outpost by way of reduced lag and one map still has memory leaks that cause excruciating FPS drops.
AFKers plague faction warfare and skirmish, armor tanking/shield tanking is awry, game still lacks the immersive elements of player based economy, the eve connection is restricted to seldom used and very circumstantial OB strikes circumvented by Precision Strikes and an alphanumeric form of communication (chat/mail) some to utilize them, some skills don't even apply correctly (reduced charge up does nothing for assault scrambler rifles), and worst of all the aiming is still jerky and slippery.
Scouts still need tweaking, Plasma Cannons arguably need tweaking, Logi LAVs need a practical repairer, maps still have invisible barriers and some have holes, PVE is in limbo, Crusader and Pilot suits are a distant memory, dev blogs are never released and transparency might as well require a congressional warrant. Etc etc etc.
Buffs and nerfs should be taken with caution, not implemented with such vast quantities and values as to completely degenerate playstyles and manifest 'flavors of the month'. Hell, those flavors shouldn't even last a month.
When, oh when, is this game going to at the very least be stable? Were I on the CPM (and I guarantee I will be running for candidacy) I would be absolutely belligerent in stating - no, DEMANDING - that all development of new content be placed on lower priority or ceased until a working product is in order. These are not minor issues, these are issues that should have been noticed by internal QA. These are issues that have existed since well before Uprising. These are issues that have been reported repeatedly.
I know this post will inevitably be locked as a rant, but I'm willing to allow it so that it can be read. Whether the community agrees or disagrees is not my concern, but that they know that they're not the only ones stating the obvious. So, with that out on the table, I say this:
Your move CCP.

Dude, just take a break. AFK till you hit your cap and go do something else. This I find funny. You don't want to fall behind? Are you that dependent on being at the top of the heap that you have to stick around to complain or AFK to the detriment of everyone who isn't fed up? |

Honestly,
I've been afking until cap, playing a few PC matches here and there when I'm needed, and otherwise off playing Dark Souls and the other games in my steam library. It's the only way to play this game since uprising has dropped. |

Agreed. If they actually implement matchmaking at all (tiered in some way hopefully) this won't matter one bit. |

Unfortunately, as much as I would like to, I have a feeling CCP monitors my gameplay as even when I go AFK to answer the door I come back to find myself disconnected.
Further still, I feel that I must maintain a sense of e-bushido and set an example for others if I am to ever become a member of the CPM. That and I feel that FAKing (epic tablet auto correct) is cowardly. |

Representatives should abstain from the dark practices, imo. Brash as I am, I have been making an effort to be more friendly, sincere and tactful with my words. As well as keeping personal bias out of those opinions (something I'm truly terrible at). |

I posted this somewhere else... this is relevant here :)
Let me think this one over.
I have been here since close beta.
-We are playing the same exact map with only small variations for the past year. Oh hey a new building.
-Tanks sucked. Tanks were OP. Tanks sucked. Tanks were OP.
-We were promised total warfare with vehicles. We just finally got assault dropships (even tho we saw awesome jets flying). As well as MCC piloting.
-Oh those new suits? Nope.
-Oh hai. Laser guns. Nerfed to oblivion.
-Oh you paid real money for those suits that doesnt require any skills? Let me put them at a stupid requirement to get them. Oh hey guess what, you can rebuy them, in the 100$ merc pack.
-Oh hai guys, we have so many good ideas!!! No updates.
-You liked this build? Let me release the game with more glitches than there has ever been since closed beta. Oh oops. Sorry. Sucks to be you. Let me put an apology here.
CCP, I spent about 200$ with you guys in hoping things would get better. PS4 has been announced, playstation + will be required to play online, there is no news from you about future consoles. Hell, you dont even do good deals for your paid transactions.
You are introducing and re-introducing elements that us beta players as a community told you was straight up stupid (contact grenades is a big one). So now saying you have people in place to be better listening to the community sounds like a big joke to me.
You have no timeline, except *Soon* and in today's fast paced world, it is not enough.
I still check the forums, in hope to see an update (seriously been a month since launch and we are still barely getting nuggets), because there is a small part of me that hopes that it will someday work.
Your version is great. Your timeline and most likely way of doing things arent.
Dat is all. |

Well if other players aren't fed up, they have PC and ambush for legitimate games. When I want something resembling a challenge thats where I go. Skirmish is always going to be plagued with AFK'rs until the mechanics surrounding it are properly fixed.
There is a reason CCP aren't banning MCC AFK'rs. I think it's because they know their game is bad (really, really bad), and they want to retain these players until the game is good. |

Yeah, I too have been feeling the burn.
I was going to sign into the game this morning, and then..... just didn't...
Every night, Dust patches, I generally expect some sort of change to occur somewhere. Changes are exciting.
Dust can still hold it's own against competitors like CoD and BF, because it has a very strong meta-game level... but how long can it go on just meta and the hope of players? Meta content is good, but it needs more hard content, and a lot of work. Namely, PVE, better match-making, debugging (debugging debugging debugging. RFT), and for the world to be a little more"open".
I know folks don't like the term "open-world" for Dust, but let's face it. That will help scale and immersion. Dust will likely easily survive against Battlefield 4, because no matter how good it looks, Battlefield is a one-time play through with online competition with no framework for deep meta-game. No matter how beautiful the lake, if it's too shallow, you won't go swimming, and Battlefield, as beautiful as it is, is a shallow game.
But, how would Dust hold up in the long-term against say.... Destiny? That thing is gorgeous, open-world, and it really seems like it will enable meta on new levels.
Dust has potential, but initiative must be taken when it comes to that potential. We've made lots of progress, but some issues are so old (aiming mechanics), that it leaves some wondering.
Consider, a PC MMO called "Blade and Soul"... lots of us here in the U.S. were very excited about it. But it's taking SO LONG to actually come out over here, that many of us have already forgotten about it. They have their Korean base, and they are going to miss out on the North American gamer base because of failing to seize initiative.
I've watched a lot of videos from the FanFest... CCP clearly has technical hurdles to overcome using the Unreal engine on the PS3, and considering that the when the PS4 comes out Sony will charge for online play... they have to think about whether or not this is in-line with their goals for Dust, or whether or not it will hurt Dust.
I personally refuse to buy a PS4. I will NOT subscribe to PlayStationPlus. Why the hell would I want to start PAYING them for service that has proven to be atrocious to begin with? And they want to require payment for online play? No. I will not. Especially not to simply play newer iterations of current games. BF4 looked good.......... but not THAT good.
What are CCP's options? 1. Abandon Sony and put out a Dust 514 PC Client. (I prefer this option. You guys never needed Sony to begin with.) 2. Make a Dust 514 PS4 Client. (I won't play Dust anymore for sure if this is done, because I won't pay Sony for PS+) 3. Keep Dust on the PS3. (But how viable is this for the LONG-term?)
Online play will not be free on PS4...and this breaks away from Dust's intention to be free-to-play... How does this compute? |

The ps4/PS+ argument is kinda weird IMO, If you own a ps4, then chances are(BFC) that you'll subscribe to PS+. This is not a subscription to Dust, and shouldn't be considered as one either. That'd be like saying dust aint free to play, because i have to pay for electric and ISP services |

Either way, you're paying a subscription to play now.
I will not buy a PS4, solely BECAUSE of the PS+ requirement for online play. I'm not the only one that feels this way.
If Dust goes to PS4, then I say good bye to Dust.
If Dust goes to PC, then I will gladly pay them a subscription there (if they want it), because development on the PC platform will be exponentially more productive.
Think about it. You can get a XBox Live Membership for as low as $3 per month, and PS+ for as low as $4 per month...
...but Sony hasn't done all that great with their online service, so no, I won't buy their system, and I won't pay their fee. (Nor Microsoft's for that matter. Don't, and never will own an xbox.)
Only got a PS3, to play Dust anyway. |
