when i kill somebody on the battlefield why cant i pick up and use his weapon. this feature should be brought to the game. we also need a market or something that will allow us to sell items to other players |

Simple reason, what if you dont have your character skills high enough to use that weapon Now getting an ammo pick up from the corpse if you happen to be using the same weapon type would be nice |

I can see it now. People racing LAVs into the red-line trying to kill that guy with the Thale up close. Or better yet his own teammates trying their best to grief kill him for his weapon.
Liking the idea anyways. |

I was sort of hoping that they would add a feature where each kill would net us ISK right on the battlefield based off the gear our kill was carrying - maybe a running tally that showed +/- balance for the round up in the corner in tiny font and numbers flying right off the suit as the mercs die that show how much you just cost them with a nice cha-ching sound effect.
But, well... features like that don't just grow on trees, kids....
A player to player trading and a market is in the works, so there's that. I have no reason not to assume that it will be extremely underwhelming in exeecution.

If we could do this, you'd end up with the MAG SVER vs. Raven situation. Everyone will stack equips/mods, use a cheapo weapon (like a toxin) and take the dead guys vastly superior (Raven-made) weapon. = D
Seriously, my entire clan in MAG had 3/5's of every squad employing this tactic when we were up against the n00bs with amazing weapons.
While it might add something (I.E. a new 'scavenger class' just like MAG) to the game, I feel that eventually no one will run with expensive/good weapons. Everyone will be hoping for battlefield salvage...
...on that note, perhaps after the game if we get the PC style salvage, then you're onto something. However, taking weapons from dead opponents detracts more than it adds, IMO. |

I'm pretty sure none except the owner can get in the driver seat. I think once the owner has gotten in the vehicle once, then someone else can drive. |

PG and CPU requirements first and foremost. You would need an empty weapon slot. You would have to have all of the prerequisite skills required to use the weapon unless it is a MLT variant.
In the case of the HMG and Forge you would have to be a heavy.

This is only the case for a few seconds, if left unattended for a few seconds, the vehicle becomes unlocked and anyone can drive off with it.

I don't follow. What menu are you referring to?
You can only Equip 2 weapons.
Logistics can only equip 1 weapon.
You can only equip weapons if you have enough available PG and CPU, and an available slot on your fitting.
If you are referring to simply picking them up and having them added to your inventory, that would be salvage. there is already a salvage system in place. |

That is more of a generic selection wheel used for all classes and all vehicles, not all of those spaces are for weapons. Not all of those spaces can be utilized by every player.
What appears in those spaces are the Weapons and Equipment modules and repairers for vehicles that you have on your loadout. To have them on your fitting you need the proper amount of PG and CPU, the prerequisite skills, and the available slots.
There are several because certain classes like Logistics can carry multiple equipment modules. Other classes can carry 2 weapons, and equipment modules.
Other slots on the wheel are reserved for vehicle modules.
It isn't simply oh I have empty spaces in this wheel thingy I should be able to hold extra crap. |

Ammo pickups: Yes.
Weapon swapping off dead mercs: You can't pick it up if you don't have the skills, and if you don't have the CPU/PG for it, swapping will offline mods until it fits. You cannot pick up weapons that your frame size cannot use, or which require more fitting than your suit can provide. This needs a UI to show stats compared to your weapon, and the consequences of swapping (offline mods, etc...).
Vehicles: Drivers seats should require the skills to use the vehicle and driver turret (if any). Gunner seats should require the skills to use the turret. Only passenger seats should not require skills, but these should also allow the passengers to shoot their infantry weapons from the vehicle. |
