So what, Sony was supposed to ignore their own IP and push one from another company? And its not like they were telling CCP they were barred from having anything on a Sony console
Besides Planetside 2 is just one of a long list of games all competing against each other for peoples time and money but you make it sounds like it was developed just to tell CCP to **** off

I didnt see it that way, I just saw it as an example of the extreme amount of focus Sony and their first and second party developers are putting into the PS4 launch
Its pretty clear they want to avoid having another PS3 type launch so they seem to be pulling out all the stops to establish market dominance over Msoft |

What?
Planetside 2 isnt dusts only competition. all games are. Also, more ftp mmos will come to consoles. Why would Sony put a barrier up to protect one company that makes one game only and block other games of that genre on its console. that would be stupid and damage consumer interests - bad business practice.
consumers will make their choice what games to play. its up to companies to make compelling products and offerings. this has nothing to do with Sony putting up a middle finger. |

Not that Planetside 2 is that good. Dust 514 might still be a balancing mess and should still be in Beta, but it beats Planetside 2 every time.
Of course you have big ass battles in Planetside 2. But why? You fight an open ended war. Never is a winner declared and at some points the map is reset. Extremely boring and unsatisfying if you ask me. I rather play a broken Dust where all my victories do is influence a counter instead of fighting totally senseless battles in Planetside 2. |
