Of course it isn't, it's a stupid additional tack on price to get you to pay them more, and it gets to squeak by because too many morons don't question it. We already pay our ISP for our internet, we don't have to pay again to use our computer's web browsing. We buy the games, we should be able to play the games. This is effectively adding an online pass to every game with online functionality to ever be released. No wonder EA stopped using them, people would get suspicious if they had to pay three bloody times to use their internet. |

It isn't a question of affording, it's a question of why it is needed. Would you start paying five dollars a month to play any of your Steam/Origin/whatever games that have online content, no questions asked? Would you just sit there and go 'well that's how it is now so fuckit'? |

This is not a choice. This is holding content to ransom. The current method of PS+ is a choice, I can choose to get a subscription for the right to sales and random freebies. This new PS+ is an online pass, plain and simple, but on the console itself rather than the game... but at least you only ever had to pay once for EA's passes. |
