Sometimes i wish i just had my own corp. But i dont have the time to babysit every ones ego and make sure they dont leave because ...
"the corp isnt doing enough"
"I lost 5 tanks in pubs, i need money".
"Where is our leader, he obviously doesnt care since he hasnt been on in 3 weeks... lets all overthrow him/leave"
"Im not appreciated enough, and i should be because im the best player ever... MAKE ME DIRECTOR NAOW"
"OMG we lost that PCB because all of you suck, i was doing my best but you kept me back, im leaving"
If i did have my own, none of this BS would even be an issue (insta kick). If you want to QQ about losing money because you made some bad decisions, or not follow orders in CB's/PCB's, or even if you are super awesome at the game but you are just an annoying jerk to others.... i would kick you immediately. If you did not meet my expectation and you are just there to fill a spot, i would kick you.
But in the end, its easier to just join any of the top 50 corps and watch the drama, then leave when it goes sour.
Who knows, i may make a corp in the future... but that will be a day when there is alot more stuff to do in DUST. |

Yep. If I ever make a corp, it'll be strictly a brocorp- an organised group of friends that doesn't give a damn about your problems (unless we REALLY feel like it) |

That's actually how a lot of corps start out, just a group of friends messing around without all the drama. After that you just keep doing your thing, if more people want to join, good, if they get bossy, kick them, doesn't matter if the corp stays small for a while, its best to have a small group of people who get along, than a large corp that's a mess and full of "me! me! me!" players, |

Sorry, but that is how it works in the real world. As a budding entrepeneur trying to build his own corporate empire, I can confirm that Eve and Dust's corporation system works incredibly realistic. Sorry but the only thing that runs budding corporations is good faith when the big guys can offer health benefits and 401ks. Most people with the proper credentials would rather be hired by the big corporations for job security at best, and a good recommendation letter for the next job at worst. So yeah, the corporation system can't really be helped, there are two kinds of people: leaders and followers. |

Thanks for posting this drama is something that plagues my corp nothing is actually wrong but like you said peoples egos get in the way. My computer was down and I couldn't get on EVE for about a month and boot inactives, change roles, etc. All my players started quitting a lot sayed we are going no where honestly I expect loyalty my corp was the easiest to manage when it first started. Then people started creating drama and it felt like a pain instead of something I genuinely wanted to do. I'd rather be someone who recruits and grows and manages the corp but doesn't have to interact with any of the members. I'd leave that hell to another director. |

Its not MY corp. Everyone brings something. We made this. We are working our asses off and having fun. Most people we play with love us. Its because we are a family first and then murderers. If we get stomped, we learn. We have ideas and try them. We do everything.
Being in possession of a corp sounds hollow compared to belonging in one. |

You had it partially right yes there are leaders then there are followers but there is also a third kind of person... a troll he will make it hard for your leaders and get all your followers to quit. He will destroy your corp. |

I agree with his sentiment. Would love to make and Amarri FW corp where we can all go and win some FW matches, work with an EVE side FW corp, and generally just enjoy the RP style of that kind of play as well as get ready for expanding PC zones, but the issue is apart from members who are they because they enjoy that sort of thing you have to deal with FPSers who are hugely ego driven.
I'll admit I was close to leaving my corp, however since they have stepped up organisation, gotten more guys on board, and generally taken things a bit more serious I really have a place within the corp now....shame they don't do Amarr FW. |
