Two Basic Plates
15 more armor hp Less movement penalty (6 percent as opposed to 10) Less CPU cost (10 less) Less PG cost (10 less) 2,145 ISK cheaper
Just saying, if you have the slots, might as well use them.
In fact, overall, it's better to any combination of two basic/enhanced plates than to use one complex. Two enhanced will give you almost 60 more HP over one complex with the same movement speed penalty and PG cost at the expense of needing 10 more CPU and being a little more expensive.

yea but if your going for HP complex is the way to go, you know like heavies.. thou most never see it that way. |

Not really, the movement speed penalty will reduce your survivability through mobility. This is why Shield Tanking, to this day, is the better option. |

mobility isn't why I kill heavies. mobility might help the assault class/logi but a class that already has low mobility it isn't that big of a hit. |

It's a massive hit. Movement speed isn't just running, it's starting and turning as well. Mobility on a heavy doesn't matter as much because they have more shields/armor but to a logo it's crucial |

it should also be noted that while the two complex plates report to have the same movement penalty as one complex plate they do not.
My theory on why this is runs as follows.
Imagine you move at 10 m/s (a huge number but convenient for the sake of this issue). With a complex plate you would have a 10% penalty so you would actually move at 9 m/s (10-(10*.1)). Now that same player with two enhanced armor plates seems to be having the penalty applied using the follow calculation (10-(10*.05)-(9.5*.05)=9.025). This means that even though in theory the two enhanced armor plates should have the same penalty as the single complex they are actually better.
A simple fix would be for CCP to chance the penalties so that they are added first then subtracted from the total speed.
On a simple side note CCP has said that they are going to fix the inherent issues with armor plates and are even working on a way to change the gallente racial assault bonus to reduce armor penalty (though this last one is causing them some issues). |

It's been discussed before. It's a broken system and I advise my newbros to be absolutely sure that they need the higher tier plates before speccing any higher than 1. It's just not worth it to go any higher for a everyone but a heavy that is going for a pure armor buffer fit. nobody else needs to take that skill any higher, and that should concern CCP as they likely don;t want there to be skills commonly viewed as useless |

The skill itself increases the efficacy of the plates, so that definitely helps |

Plates should affect stamina and stamina recovery. There's been topics on this for months. Armor is more viable in Uprising but what's the point if it slows you down, caps your jump height and turn speed. Supposedly it affects your fall damage too. |

It is now worth it to spec into higher plates in anticipation for Uprising 1.2, aside from that level 3 armor, and level 5 armor repair is the best. |

Check the shield vs armor thread. Armor complex plates are obviously useless. By a LOT. OVerall, armor tanking is a complete turn-off. |

Considering a minister scout has 87 or so armor, I'd take the hit for faster movement speed. |

I Run a Comp Armor Plate with a Armor repairer that comes with the Logi Suit bonus. and I have a Neglible Loss of Mobility. I would LOVE to fit two Complex Plates. I'd be a Heavy Logi
Anyway, this should be in the Rookie Training Grounds. Let the Rooks know what is a Better/ Worse Module to Choose |
