As someone who only plays for an hour at a time (I usually only play for 1 hour a day as I have kids and other responsibilities) it is incredibly annoying to be repeatedly put in games that are basically finished. There needs to be some point where the game says ok this game is a runaway (or nearly complete) dont add more players. It happens ALL the time. And this is just for games that are half over (ie an ambush who's score is 15clones left to 65 clones left). The other problem is people leaving a game RIGHT before completion to avoid a loss, put tags on games and players, if a player leaves in the first minute they are fine, if they leave after that they still get win/loss based on the actual result of the game. I would even be in favor if they leave the game they have no chance to get the win, but if ur team looses u still get the loss.
This isn't as big of a problem when u run in squads, but for players who have short play times I can't wait for the group leader to fill empty slots after a match and the. Someone has to fix a fit or someone has to buy something off the market, I go from 5 games an hour solo to 2 games in an hour.
No one wants to play in an empty game, but I want to be put into an already lost battle even less! |

I totally agree. Sometimes I even joined games in which I didn't even had time to spawn once!
Actually I'd say if one team is good enough to make people leave before the end, then they deserve some credit for it. Don't fill in the empty spots to keep it interesting for the winning team. Instead, reward them with more ISK or something for being so good that the other team loses players.

There just needs to be better matchmaking code so that lopsided games are less likely. |

Well yes that's what you end up having to do, but that is exactly what the problem is., i.s. the waste of time. If you are 15 y.o. and have all the time in the world, no big deal. If you have a full time job, a family and other responsibilities and all you got left is an hour to play Dust, then wasting time like this sucks big time!!! |

Yeah, we got some family guys in our corp that say the same thing. Honestly, you don't need to be young, unemployed, or single for this issue to be an irritation.
Everyone loves a GOOD match. Good matches are matches where clone counts remain fairly even, MCC life is fairly even, no bugs are biting, and the FPS is happily sailing on high. The kind where you send a "gg" to the other side.
Those are so few and far in between right now.
Honestly, I would favor a delayed deployment time, if it meant better matchmaking. That's basically what we do right now with PC anyway.
Better two GOOD matches in an hour, instead of 5 lame and boring matches. |

If you ask me the hole problem is people leaving matches to protect their stats. All of a sudden an objective is taken and half the apposing team decides it will be a loss. Ten people leave all at once and the server has to find people to replace them with. You think there is not going to be any lag in a game with this going on. This is also why you look on the roster and see 16 names, but look on the map and only see 2 blue berries. If you start a match from the begining, there should be no reason for you to leave during the match and if you do there needs to be some serious consequences. |
