Yeah man lets talk about PS4 and mad Graphiczz! that are gonna be Ausomeneszzz! This is exactly what the game needs right now, right? People have been talking about the 'mad potential' of Dust for 3 years? Have you seen any potential materialize yet? All I am seeing is a game that was outsourced to a small Chinese office 'CCP Shanghai' with a gameplay to match this ambitious development effort. |

Now im just depressed, what if the game doesn't last that long and I miss out on all the potentially awesome stuff? well look at how ***** eve started off and look at where they are now.. im sure this game will pick up
This is not PC world. I play on console because I don't believe in wasting time on 'creative' indie/DIY projects with creative f2p schemes that abound in the PC world. I want to give my money to a big evil corporation with dumb drones for devs that actually know what they are doing and have done it many times before and will turn out a game with the right specifications, so that it plays like it should and not with hollow promises to arrive at that point years away. |

With its current overwhelming success I don't think they will be invited to PS4. |

Pretty sure they paid it would be a year or so ago but since them have been decidedly sheepish and avoided answering the question. Maybe waiting for E3. If there is no talk about it at E3 then i suspect it will be a long long time before it goes to next gen consoles. Of course looking at the player base numbers i don't think dust has a long time. The player base for a F2P game is terrible... For a F2P game to success, you need to be looking at the 10,000 player base at any time of the day, and 15,000 in pick time. Dust 514 is no where near that numbers. You know something is wrong, when people don't wants to play your game for FREE.
Let's run the numbers. for 10 k players to be on at any time, there is gotta be maybe 40 times more of the players who actually play more or less regularly. Sounds about fair? So that's 400k players in all. If only 1/10th of the players pay any money for the game and say, on average maybe $5-10 a month, that's $200-400k in revenue for the company every month. To build a modern competitive shooter, you gotta cough up about 20 mil in production cost, right? So it must take 100 months or 8 years just to make its money back for the company. And this is why f2p fails. You just cant build a quality game with that kind of accounting. |

EVE was no where near what it is now upon release (I know, I was there). you had cruisers, frigates, battleships and mining (not the hulk) ships, and the cargo ships, that was it. Now look at all the ships now. We only had t1 gear. at peak time there was at most 1500 logged in.
You people have no faith. You guys also seem to think that making a great game is so easy....Its a wonder not every game out there is great. So many turds get relesed every year. why? Isnt it easy? How many games have you created?
haters gonna hate.
It may be an appauling surprize to you but EVE is not a well developed MMO. All it got going for it is SOV and PVP concenpts that other MMO games were not good at implementing. This is what keeps ppl playing EVE. The actual content of EVE is garbage. All the quests/missions in the game are probably the worst in the industry: they are all clones of one another: go shoot NPC mob and come back. The NPC in the game are just !! static pictures - something from probably the 80s standard for an RPG.
So when making comparisons, don't set EVE to be some sort of high standard. It is a successful niche game because of a couple of well implemented concepts in the game not because it's highly developed or polished. |

haters gonna hate. I don't make any games, and i'm not a Dev. But i been playing games for long enough, to know the difference between a Great game, and a "Good" idea. Games that have a "Good" idea, are normally the platform for other companies to exploit that potential. Happen so many times.. i lost the count. CCP is going to spend years trying to make this "Good Idea" happen, and someone like Microsoft games, or EA, or any other big company.. just going to come around, and exploit the full potential with a GREAT game. Dust isn't perfect. It's called mediocre at the moment. Every update will add quality and stuff. this will go on and on and on. If you don't like it now come back and play in 6 months a year whatever it's F2P. CCP is trying something revolutionary in the world of computer games. Just wait and see what happens. PS. Don't hold their strategy next to EA's please their playing a different sport.
How much quality has been added in a year and a half since early beta I wonder? |

J0HNNY BLAZE wrote:lot of people hate cause this is game is no where near like call of duty.. meaning the noob aim system they have in COD.. this game doesn't cater to the noob like players and you cant be good at this game over night that's what makes this game good to me,,like any mmo you gotta get your skills and gear up first before you can try and go heads up or last in a pc match.. sorry most of you players are hateing it right now but for me im a counter strike vet so this game system I like just the way it is..over 6k players play on a daily basis I think that's not bad so far...yeah they should of kept the game in beta still but ehh what can you do.. bottom line I believe in ccp's track record and I think this game will be just fine
So you are calling a polished aiming system of COD bad right and Dust's superior to that? Did I understand that first part correctly? Please note, I hate COD's autoaim because it is an autoaim but at least it's well executed, I'll give them that. Your 'skill' in dust means that you gotta jump on that proto AR and practive long and hard to beat games rusty controls instead of enjoying a good aiming system and working at being faster and more accurate with it than the next guy. |
