Got this gun on my alt to play around to see how it was, and boy can I say just from that it needs some sort of buff to be viable as a useful weapon.
It has great one hit kills if it hit's the guy and doesn't pass through center mass. The projectile is easy to dodge if seen coming any further than 15m away. The reload wouldn't be as much of an issue if it was easier to do damage to opponents
9 times out of 10 if i hit a guy with splash it drains all shield and does some dmg to armor (keep in mind the splash will hit if its directly under or a foot away from your target, splash is abysmal in it's current state)
This gun needs a large buff to it's blast radius with maybe a lesser damage impact. 800 dmg direct with 400 splash in a 5m radius with a diminishing dmg output the further from the center would be much more sufficient. That's still less powerful than a militia grenade besides direct impact. A faster moving projectile would also help it's efficiency.
Pros: High Direct Damage Predictable Shooting Arc Decent Ammo Reserve
Cons: Slow Reload Speed Slow Projectile Speed Splash Radius (3.5m is abysmal) Low Splash Damage No Optic to Judge Distance Almost unusable in open ground vs opponents
What I would do in short:
Standard Plasma Cannon: 800 Dmg Direct 400 Dmg Splash 5m Splash Radius +50% Projectile Speed 3 Sec Reload
Tactical Variant with Optic to judge distance, slightly higher direct dmg, slightly less splash dmg 900 Dmg Direct 275 Splash 5m Splash Radius +50% Proj Spd 3 Sec Reload
Burst Variant with faster reload, lesser direct dmg 650 Dmg Direct 400 Dmg Splash 5m Splash Radius +50% Proj Spd 2.4 Sec Reload

The plasma cannon is supposed to be an Anti Veichle weapon. With your changes it would become an anti infantry weapon.
To be an effective AV weapon the plasma cannon needs a greater direct damage or a 2-round clip.
The standard swarm launcher and forgegun have more direct damage than the plasma cannon, but they both needs less skill than the plasma cannon to use effectively. |

If anything needs a splash range buff, it's missiles. A handheld weapon should not have more splash range and damage than a turret mounted missile launcher. |

If you have used the Plasma Cannon at all, you would be able to realize that it is only effective partly as an anti infantry weapon, regardless what it was intended to be. It is next to useless against vehicles.
If it were to be an AV weapon, it would need 100% bonus to projectile speed and do 1700 - 2000 Base damage. Then it would be able to 2 shot an LAV, and 3 - 5 shot HAVs.
It is this universe's RPG. A universal weapon that is good vs a lot of things, but if you notice, the RPG is VERY effective against infantry AND some vehicles. This is basically the same thing as the Plasma Cannon. |

I'd say give it extra damage to vehicles (+25%?) and increase the blast radius, if we're going to use a cumbersome weapon then it needs the power to make it worthwhile. |
