I want us to be able to be hired by EVE players to attack/defend their industrial moons, and industrial colonies on planets. An EVE player puts out a contract to have us Dust players attack and take control of another EVE player's industrial thingies, and the second EVE player puts out a contract to get mercs to defend it. This was the original promise of Dust. I'm surprised there isn't much talk of this anymore.
Yeah... was expecting this thread to come out longer. |

Yeah... was expecting this thread to come out longer. I thought that would be the eve dust connection. Hiring Merc corps to take over planets for planetary interaction. |

I know EVE players mine asteroids belts and stuff, would be awesome if we could be hired fight over them. We could fight on asteroids with very low gravity, traversing from one asteroid to the next with some kind of thruster pack. |

Battles right now that come up under the Mercenary tab are meaningless, doesn't have EVE players giving out contracts, and gives no incentives to win. That is not what CCP promised us and it needs to be fixed. |

Would be nice if eve players could hire use to destroy PI command centers or Spaceports. |

Yeah... was expecting this thread to come out longer. You can "own" max 6 planets via PI in EVE. So unless a capsuleer owns less than this number she couldn't take them out from another capsuleer. The only action possible imho would be destroying command center. There is no way to destroy somebody's else PI colony in EVE now. You can interfere by placing your own extractor close to the opponents's.
The way i see it working: 1) In EVE there must be RT introduced into PI command centers. 2) And a way to contract DUST mercs to attack it. (Could appear on corp battle tab) 3) In dust new map is introduced - a building representing PI command center (one type for every planet type) 4) Skirmish rules apply (with NULL's outside of the building or on it wit terminals to hack inside). Both capsuleers must provide clones for mercenaries (buy from market or transport from a district). 5) Payout is based on biomass value and clones remaining after battle. 6) Inside the building map is placed an objective - self destruct device (SDD, built-in in every command center and (EVE ship ) ). 7) SDD belongs to the defenders at the start of battle. 8) Attackers try to hack it and defenders must rehack it back. 9) When the match ends the ownership of the SDD decides if the command center is destroyed or not.
This scheme could be applied (after minor modifictaions) to all POS'es in EVE (Titans, Stations, Customs offices) Every such EVE player owned structure could be represented in DUST by a building map and upon meeting certain conditions could be attacked in EVE and automatically generate corp battle contract (accessible to attacking/defending corp/alliance members only or public) in DUST. Upon attacking, EVE capsuleer would be able to choose objective type: destroy (always available) or take ownership (if applicable after attacker's skills assessment) and access level to the DUST contract... |

Yes, sir! Fighting over EVE industrial locations is right on path with how we see EVE and Dust connecting with one another. We will be making this happen in future iterations of the game for sure! At the moment we're mostly focusing on core issues and fun of the game, while setting our minds to the expansive possibilities that await the EVE/DUST universe!
I think it's a great idea and I love hearing more and more discussion about ways Dust could have an effect on EVE and vice versa. :)

I'd go one step farther and even allow Eve-side ownership of districts as an option as well. Merc contracts between corporations (whether Dust or Eve based) have to become a reality. One of the main reasons many people picked up this game was to be mercenaries. All we have in Planetary Conquest really is clone farming. |

Can't wait for this to happen! It's the kind of interaction I want to see. Real inpact in Eve and not just pushing a modificator. Would be awesome if you would also need Dusties to capture POS. Maybe you could add later, when DUst is really established, that you NEED Dusties to capture nullsec systems.
I would love to see a lot more stuff like this. This is what I always expected from Dust. And not just pushing modificators around. |

in order to fight on a titan we would need the matches able to support at least 300-400 players since aren't they some where around 12 kilometers in length? also taking a POS would take a lot of planning since I know some can shut down all systems and boost their shields and hold off an attack for a week.
glad im not the one that has to solve those problems and the many others. thanks for all you guys are doing, and good luck. will be glad to see what you guys can do. |

+1
Both sides of the game should be able to own things in either PC or console side and we do really need these contracts in place. |
