I fixed this months ago and CCP just won't implement it.
1. Create a game mode called Ambush AFK. 2. Players can log in, and their account locks for the duration of an Ambush game. 3. At the end of that duration, the AFKers are given some average amount of ISK, SP, even a little Salvage. 4. AFKers are not in real games, eating up player slots and having to check in. 5. AFKers get paid, and won't want to bother with real matches.
I get $500,000 for fixing it. |

Oh, and a bonus freebie.
1. For every 1,000,000 SP a player has allocated to skills, they get a 2% boost to passive SP. The more you play and skill into things, the faster you advance, if only by a little bit.

That does not fix anything at all, it continues to support the behavior giving them free stuff for absolutely nothing and still allows them the advantage of multiple accounts afk grinding isk for corp funding. |

while doing all that reading and researching you apparrently forgot to read what exactly I said can cause those problems. By actively campaigning HARD, and getting the mast majority of people who spend cash on this game and lose **** on this game to know they can still get everything without doing anything.. it would eventually be detremental.. passively ignoring it over time , sure it won't effect anything.. but doing that won't fix anything either.. this problem has existed for a long time now and is becoming more and more abused as we get further into the live launch. |

I AFK farm on the MCC It shouldn't be something that is possible in the game, its unfair to those who actually play for their rewards, and it rewards those who knowingly hurt their team by being useless and taking up a slot that could be used by useful players. I used to advocate the removal of all SP gained from AFK farming, not to punish, but because its something that should have never been awarded to begin with. Now I don't advocate that anymore because of selfish gain, i'm about 700k SP from getting my AK0 logistics dropsuit, and I plan on getting prototype assault scrambler rifle as well.
I have a 30 day passive booster, and I want to make sure I hit the cap every week, even when I don't actually want to play. |

Thanks for the comment. I'm glad to hear that someone using it actually does believe it should not exist. I don't blame people that do continue to do it, it's there, ccp says why not currently, cpm shrug.. I blame ccp for allowing this in the first place, which is why I would like everyone to know they can achieve this also, and maybe just maybe ccp will do something. Can never give up on Hope! |

Getting more backers in game. I wish ccp would adress this issue. As I see it, this is far worse than the fixes they did by removing multiple wp rewards from game. And they did that pretty fast. Why can't they come up with a solution to this also.,or do they truly not give a kitten at all anymore? |

That's if you're good. I've seen people going 0-8, or 2-9, and they might as well stay in the MCC. Also SP gained is irrelevant because of the cap. You can easily hit cap in 2 days, earn just as much as you do, while doing something else that's better than grinding in this game. |

yep, only the real good players actually benifit something from not going afk. the ones getting 1500+ sp per game consistantly with little to no loss. But a huge huge group of players are risking and losing alot to gain nothing in comparison to doing nothing at all. Like does it really make any sense that you wnet in and fought a battle, got 2 kills, 12 assists , 5 deaths earn something like 2k sp. and lose isk if your fits cost something, maybe even aur. And the dude who stayed in the mcc just got more than you. Apparently dying loses sp in some way, while never doing anything gains it. |

I get $500,000 for fixing it. That does not fix anything at all, it continues to support the behavior giving them free stuff for absolutely nothing and still allows them the advantage of multiple accounts afk grinding isk for corp funding.
It keeps "them" out of "my" games and I can't seem to make myself care what they do with the points for some corp. And, the behavior is NOT getting points, but rather sitting on their dropsuits in the MCC or something similar during a real match. As far as the something for nothing argument. I once went 0-37 eating my own grenades in a skirmish. I used free suits, got 180,000 ISK and 3890 SP. I bet my teammates wished I was AFK in the MCC. |

I would definitely like to see addressing of this issue. AFK'ers ruin pub matches for casuals.
Pub matches need a purpose for winning.
The red line should disappear or work both ways to prevent abuse.
The MCC should "nuke" anyone remaining in MCC after 2 mins.
Lets take the training wheels off. It undermines CCP's reputation to not coddle, and is primarily abused by veteran players rather than used by new players as a haven, and therefore has lost it's purpose anyways.
At least if player's are going to AFK, make them do it in a danger zone where they can be killed. Adjust rewards model so that players are actually rewarded for participation. Even if it's only in ISK or Salvage. |

The thing that I don't get is, if you're AFKing because the game is currently bad, and you hope that in the future it will not be bad..why waste all that time AFKing? Just do like most of us do and stop playing.
If the game is ever fixed and stops being awful, I'll have about half the SP you have... but I didn't have to waste my time every week to get there. I expend exactly zero effort to get 50% of what you're getting. Are you really devoting all that time for that extra SP on a hunch that the game may eventually be worth playing?
It just seems like a colossal waste of time to me. You guys think you're clever by maximizing your SP gained vs. time spent, but really it's those of us who aren't playing at all that are actually getting the best return on our time investment. You AFkers look as silly to us passive SP earners as the active players look to you. |

Knightshade Belladonna wrote:ok , seriously now. We go out and fight for the wins, and the gg while alot of people are taking advantage of a system that currently rewards you almost if not better to just do absolutely nothing. Currently you can earn an easy 4k+ sp per match with no booster standing in the mcc along with 100k+ isk, while some of us lose thousands , or hundreds of thousands of isk to gain the same or slightly better results. This is seriously broken, the afk people come up with all sorts of dumb reasons of why they do it, making themselves believe it is perfectly acceptable gameplay, in a fkn shooter. Until ccp kills passive gain in match, or can come up with a better solution, I am suggesting we that try and play this game losing **** while these guys who don't reap the rewards should start playing by thier rules as well. Starting right now, I will be logging into dust and rallying at the mcc.. I will be on team chat every game, conveying the importance of this act and why I am doing it, and try to get as many to join the cause.
Tell me to HTFU , say QQ moar, call me a scrub, like my post, hate my post.. I don't give a ****, but it's time to stand up to this.. even the cpm find it perfectly acceptable and some partake in it themselves.. some with the feeling that they are to good to pub match, so they afk between PC matches.. fk that logic, let's do this!
We need something that rewards us more something we can grind and make a billion in like EVE. there is no source of income in Dust it's only loose a lot to gain a little especially for players who want to deploy proto. I think this is why people MCC camp so that they can't loose their isk but still gain something. |
