I got some of my friend to start playing dust, they said that that it was a good game until they got kicked out of the academy. After that my friends stop playing it because it got hard. I even told them to get in a squad with me even though we win the battle they get frustrated after going 1/7 every match. This is a game of progression and that it take time to get somewhere, but even I hate that. Now i got no friend who play anymore and i hate how this game reject new players. If Dust 514 want us to spread it and attract new player , but reject them , it don't make sense.
I starting to think that CCP are forcing people to buy more Aur in order to keep up. I been playing dust for three month now and got 6 million sp and get around 2 million in a month. But compare to the people who buy booster they can get nearly twice the amount. We all know that 500 thousand sp is nothing in this game and even a million, so seem like it will take years for even a experience player to skill up and who know how long for new players.
I think that they should have a game mode where only miltia gear can be use and already have a pre-assign fitting therefore no one is stronger than the other making it a game mode where it entirely the skill of the player and how well a team plays together.
I know this is going to get bad comments, but remember it a opinion . |

Even 2 million sp put in the wrong place isn't a lot. Say you put the 2 mil into something like ammo capacity for a Mass Driver or Plasma cannon and got the secondary skills in the gun maxed out (you won't be able to top up all of them but some), the ammo capacity will add around one shot, was it worth it? |

Draco is on point here.
That said I do think new players should have a longer time in the Academy. All the feedback I've read on it indicates that the time spent there is too compressed.

My response was gonna be that I had an 8 kdr coming out of the academy, now it's 3 (only 1 mill sp, all solo play). I'm not saying I'm good, but it's still possible to do well with low sp. Your friends sound like they haven't invested the time to get out-of-game skills.
Having said that, I agree that the jump for newer players is just ridiculous. And there need to be some game modes where they aren't randomly matched up against the imperfects etc. Maybe a matchmaking system, maybe pve game modes.... they need something. Because as it is, academy is just too short to get them hooked on the game. After a solid day of playing they're introduced to the real world of DUST, and then they drop like flies. |
