There is no speed/distance metrics involved.
If an LAV is 5 meters away and accelerates toward me I shouldn't be instakilled.
If an LAV is only going 30 km/hr (about 17 mph i think) and hits me I shouldn't be instakilled only take some damage.
I'm pretty sure I could survive these types of impacts IRL without having the benefit of wearing high tech futuristic shields and armor suit.
However if I get hit by an LAV at full speed I should definitely be instakilled, but the LAV should also take some damage. |

EKH0 0ne wrote:Dude you cant dodge an LAV at at a full stop 5 meters away?
Not as a Heavy, no!
EKH0 0ne wrote:You could survive a real life crash that fast, even though you dont have a high tech suit but whos to say the car doesnt have a even greater technology or a technology made to run over people........which it obviously does.
Your frustration is apart of the adaption it will pass.
Stop! My argument is completely valid and completely logical. |

Usually I end up doing a quick 180 and coming right back at them from only a couple meters away. This doesnt give me much chance to build up speed and I do not always get a 1-hit-kill, sometimes you gotta run em over a couple times.
Additionally there are many instances where the person gets "caught" on the hood of my car and is simply dragged along for the ride rather than dying. There are other times when you clip a target using the side or rear of the vehicle and this *rarely* results in a kill. I see where you are coming from but I think all in all things aren't so bad.
Missing is one thing. I have never been hit by an LAV and survived NEVER no matter what speed or distance.
I have been barely clipped to the extent that I would swear i didn't get hit at all, but still died.

I don't care what other people think about the heavy class! If you don't like it stick to your Assault with AR and LLAV easy mode and GTFO Troll!
This thread is not about that! |

Who asked for a nerf?
Dude go find somewhere to be other than my thread!
Better yet go get good at the game so you don't need to rely on a lame ass crutch to get kills! |

Azura Sakura wrote:Well sorry to go off topic but heavies are situational. Catch a heavy in the compound/"city" or any other close combat area and you will get smashed. Catch a heavy in the open, which only bad heavies would do, the he is easy prey. I think heavies are great but only in close combat and confined area, like how it's meant to be used I believe( on the defense).
And this is exactly where the 5 meter away LAV instakill happens to me. I'm not an Idiot. I do not just run out into an open field. If I have to travel more than 20 meters I call in an LAV to get me there. |

I thought you left.
and LOL that is funny IDC who you are.
FYI i'm not butt hurt. When an LAV driver pisses me off I just pull out my forge and make quick work of him and get back to business.
I'm simply making an observation. One that no one can make a legitimate rebuttal against. |

Missing should not net you a kill.
Stalken Pathfinder wrote:sometimes you gotta run em over a couple times It should still take you more than 2 hits from a "couple meters away" to kill someone with an LAV.

See when you think an LAV is moving slow its actually moving very fast, Just because your moving so slowly and your seeing the LAV take along time to get to you it seems like its moving fast. But to the scouts and Assaults around you who got out of the way and are looking at the vehicle from a diffrent angle.They can tell the car is moving fast.
Things slow down when your about ta get run over.
They aren't moving fast if they only started accelerating from 5 meters away. I do not get hit in the open. When I get hit it is from som jack ass who drives up into an objective and hits a wall then backs up stops hits the gas and rams me.
I have been instakilled from someone's LAV when it was practically touching the end of my HMG. |

A weakness that my 1000 hp should more than make up for in this type of situation, but I'm still instakilled from less than 10 meters away by LAVs all the time while inside close quarters.
LAV =/= CQC
LAV = transportation |
