I like these videos, and im sure many people are appreciative that you take the time to do them. I think they're a good contribution to the community, particularly for the new dust players.
As ive watched a few of these, they seem to get a little redundant. Just a suggestion, clearly you have a good understanding of the corps/players you are spotlighting..but I feel like you could maybe ask some different more specific questions. I mean, its good to have the questions that you do ask be apart of the spot light and I think you should continue to ask them. But towards the end of the videos it always seems to just be like, 'welp im all out of questions...sooo what else would you like to add?'
For example:
'Team players outside of team work, what do you feel is the strongest aspect of your game..do you find yourself being able to defend objectives better than most? If so, what allows you to do so? Or are you better at attacking and capturing objectives during a PC?'
'As far as diversity goes, what are you lacking on the battle field? Do you need more logis? A couple more snipers? ARs or Tank Drivers?'- This gives viewers an opportunity to see what it is Team Players are looking for specifically, but also an opportunity for Team Players to reach out to the community and let them know what it is they're looking for at that particular time.
ect ect..
Again, good videos but maybe take that into consideration the next time you do one of these.

That might be why you never saw them. Or maybe you would think playing Confrontation for well over a year and clan matching every top clan, you would eventually see them, but I guess it makes sense, they are pub players here and were likely pub players there.

most of what we did were long running tournaments with other like minded clans. We got out of the GB world when we realized it didn't matter how good or bad you were, it was all about what refs you were friends with and who would back you no matter what.
We don't cheat, don't abuse mechanics, and most of all possess integrity. We would pub it up when nothing was going on, but most often we would log on, make a private room to warm up, and spend all night warring, being in up to 3 different tournaments at the same time. Needless to say we stayed busy for along time and the fact that you never saw us probably meant you were not in the tournaments and leagues we were participating.
All of which didn't just let in any old TV repairman... u needed credentials to gain admittance, and they really looked down upon forum jockeys and random shitbums that thought they mattered in their own little E-world.
so sorry u never heard of us, and I'm sorry I never heard of you, and also notice I don't use alts to say whats on my mind ;-)
Easy Cubs...I was one of those GB nerds you speak of lol. Except I was good and not a wanna be like most kids who GB'd. I have no idea who this dude is trying to talk **** about [>TP] (see what i did there? lol ). If he did GB chances are I would know him, and I dont...not saying that you wernt good if I dont know who you are..but playing in the clans I was in for as many years as I did...ive got a pretty good idea about who was considered 'good' in the GB community. Besides, he states that Confrontation was a good game...and it wasnt. S4 was the worst..followed by Confrontation then CA, s3, and its a toss up between s2 and s1 for best socom of all time.
Also, another indicator of why he didnt GB is because he is referring to GB wars as 'clan matching'. He's clearly speaking about the in game ladder that nobody who was good gave a **** about. Had he actually played competitively in tournaments or on the GB ladder..he defiantly wouldn't be calling them 'clan matches' lol.
Dude's a nobody cubs..especially on socom.
Side Note: I cant say that I agree with the following statement- "We got out of the GB world when we realized it didn't matter how good or bad you were, it was all about what refs you were friends with and who would back you no matter what."
Yes, there were some situations or scenarios where ref's would screw a clan over because they played favorites. But in my experience..that was few and far between. Maybe you guys just got the shaft more than anyone else? Idk...clearly something happened over and over which left a bad taste in your mouth. I GB'd for like 7 or 8 years back when it was socombattles.com and not gamebattles.com...and I cant say it was THAT bad, for me at least, where I was like..'**** it..im done with GB". Skill was a big part of it though..i mean clans like LiQ, G, NoS, DpX, bT ect ect wouldnt have held down number 1 spots for as long as they did if skill didnt have something to do with it...you know what I mean? |
