Hi CCP
All the current weapons in Dust have a variation at all levels, apart form the Scrambler Rifle My suggestion is this have the following three types:
Assault Breach charge
on all levels and amend the stats as you go up through the levels (as is done with the assault rifle) |

Yes and add the assault type to the lower levels but amend the Damage output . |

Well it is kinda silly to have to level ScR operation to IV before getting the first assault variant unlocked and more variants are always welcome and breach would make sense since ScR is just a shiny AR ;) |

A very good point and when you do get to that level all your getting is a increase in firing rate, so it make more sense to all variants across all levels. |

I think the idea of a "Charge" Scrambler that only does charge shots with better range than the semi-auto is kinda nifty. It's more restricted than other charge weapons at that point, if only charge shots work, but it would present an interesting sort of "marksman" weapon.
They could also make a "Burst" variant. |

We have a semi-auto that has a charge function. I think they meant a weapon that ONLY does charge shots, with no semi-auto fire, and some boosts to compensate for that (possibly a longer charge, whatever).

Precision Scrambler Rifle
- Medium/Long Range , 200 meters.
- A good scope, more magnification than ACOG but less than a sniper rifle.
- Charge to shoot, charging time 0.5 / 0.45 seconds. (120 or 133 ROF)
- Total rounds,1600 units. Clip, Nanite battery with 160 units (4 fully charged shots, for clip)
- The charging uses the battery and overheats the weapon.
- Damage is proportional to the charging, about 3 per battery unit.
- A fully charged shot uses 40 units, after 3.5 / 4 seconds, the weapon overheats and does a damage to the user. (120 hp damage for a fully charged shot, to the enemy)

current gallente assault rifle = assault scrambler rifle = tactical Minmatar combat rifle = burst rail rifle = breach
Yes yes, I know each base racial rifle will be a specific type, I know, but that's not the point. I'm not trying to argue about whether or not each race will have a different variant as their base rifle, I'm not trying to argue about why the AR has all these variants so don't give me justifications.
I'm saying that if they get to keep all those variants (which they will) while the new racial rifles don't have that level of variety, then the assault rifle weapon class will have a severe advantage because of versatility; why skill into a Minmatar combat rifle for burst when the AR has assault (base), burst, tactical, and breach?
Sure each racial rifles will have an advantage over their AR counterpart, but that is a moot point since it will apply to the base AR having an advantage over the other racial rifles' assault variants.
Skilling into the AR instead of another racial rifle shouldn't give you more options than other rifles. |

You are clearly, CLEARLY not understanding this.
Each one will get a variant.
Gallente AR will have Tactical, Breach, and Burst variants. Amarr SCR will have Assault (orly?), Breach, and Burst variants. Minmatar CR will have Assault, Breach, and Tactical variants. Caldari RR will have Assault, Burst, and Tactical variants.
The ONLY reason the Gallente AR currently has the Tactical and Burst variants are because CCP was using it as a base platform to make up for the other 3 rifles not being in the game. The variants are coming for EACH one.
CCP Remnant wrote:We'll be making some adjustments to the rifle ranges in the near future. We're currently testing the Rail Rifle and Combat Rifle internally (the two missing archetypes). Within the assault rifle class the four weapon types will break down as follows:
Assault Rifle (Hybrid - Plasma) - short range Combat Rifle (Projectile - Autocannon) - short-mid range Scrambler Rifle (Laser - Pulse) - mid range Rail Rifle (Hybrid - Railgun) - long range
Keep in mind though that long range for an assault rifle is not equivalent to long range for a sniper rifle, so while they will adhere to existing category definitions don't expect massive differences in the distances between these weapons A lot of the original assault rifle variants (Breach, Burst, Tactical) were created to fill the gaps these newer weapons will fill and so mightGÇÖve felt out of place.
CCP Remnant wrote: They won't be removed, no, but they will be tweaked slightly. The idea being that each race will have it's base variant be Assault, (Gallente) Burst (Minmatar), Breach (Caldari) or Tactical (Amarr) and then the variants are a specific race's take on the others using their own tech. So, you'd get an Assault Rail Rifle that attempts to somewhat mimic the behavior of the Gallente Assault Rifle and a Tactical Assault Rifle that attempts to mimic the Amarr Scrambler Rifle and so on.

What do you mean the Gallente AR "will have"? it already has those variants. Are you
I JUST SAID I'm not arguing about why the Gallente racial AR gets all those variants, I know it was initially pace holders to make up for the lack of racial rifles. Regardless of the reason, they're going to get to keep all those variants, so its only fair that all racial rifles get as many variants in addition to their base type so others are just as versatile weapon families.
The OP says he wants more variants for the scrambler rifle, I don't see the problem with that. You seem to think that the scrambler will get those variants judging by your comment (underlined), so I'm not really sure why we're arguing. I really don't know what this argument is about |

You were taking this as me talking about the AR and AR only, for whatever reason. I did say "all weapons will have variants" though. Of course CCP isn't going to remove the variations already in place for the AR. That'd be taking a complete step backwards when they're planning on implementing variations for the lot of them. The AR has the variants to help make up for the actual racial rifles not being in. When the racial rifles are in, then the variants will be tweaked accordingly. And the other racial rifles will variants based on the Assault, Breach, Burst, and Tactical guidelines already mentioned. Your argument was that it's not fair for the AR to have these variants now when the SCR doesn't. My argument was that the variants are inbound and CCP has confirmed that, so there's no use trying to claim that the AR is going to be the most versatile rifle.
Also, I had edited my previous post with the relevant comments by CCP Remnant on the subject, but it looks like you replied before I managed to get them in. |

I wish you just told me that the other racial rifles would have just as much variant of variants, and that its already planned for the scrambler rifle to get burst and breach so I would have shut up
I wasn't trying to claim that you said they would be removed, just using the fact that they won't be as justification for others getting more variants.
