This is a thread about grenades (see thread title)
I hate grenades in general for games, they're lame, so in my opinion that makes me the very best person to start this discussion.
Basically, in this game you got your Timed explosive grenade, your Seeking AV grenade, your timed flux grenade, and the universally loathed contact explosive grenade - that is two different types of explosive with nothing to set the flux grenade apart in terms of it behavior.
My idea is to get rid of contact explosives and timed flux grenades to replace them both with Contact Flux Grenades. My thought behind this gem of an idea that if we must have a contact grenade variant they should be non-lethal flux and webifier variety.

Getting rid of grenades no, adding more types yes Also lowering the timer on timed grenades yes and limiting grenade numbers to reduce spamming yes |

i agree that if there is any contact grandes it should be non lethal varients, the flux, a web type would be perfect candidates for contact. exploside contact granades are a little bit overwhelming and honestly i dont think theres a way to balance them. |

Far be it from me to take away our only connection to pretending we're little army men in favor of gameplay - I would never suggest dumping the grenade from this game...
I just think if we have a contact type of grenade it should be for non-lethal situations like the flux and the memory hole victim webifier. |

The game needs Sticky Nades or we could just throw Water Balloons
It also needs Smoke nades too |

I'd have to agree, while contact grenades are cool in theory, they really are EZ mode. A skilled player with M1's or Core grenades will produce significantly better results.
If we are going to Have Contact grenades they should absolutely be non lethal, such as Flux and Webfiber. |

Some sort of EMP grenade would be useful... Something that will disable vehicles for perhaps 10 to 15 seconds and equipment, both dropped (drop uplinks etc.) and handheld, for maybe 15 - 20 seconds. |

You do know that Flux and locus grenades will destroy deployed equipment right? Also the idea behind Webfiber grenades is to trap vehicles or dropsuits in statis for a brief period.... |

I don't think that EMP grenades would be a good idea. I'm not going to ramble off a response about how suits and tanks would be hardened against blah blah blah... To me it's more of a skill thing. It is so easy to die or loose your assets in this game that making something that would make you a sitting duck for X amount of time would only induce rage quiting on the level of making national news.
Are contact grenades a intense pain in the ass.... Oh yeah...
Do they need to get pulled from the game... Not really
Should they be nerfed... No, they are grenades, A grenade that doesnt kill some one i just as bad as being able to put a shotgun round in some ones back and only watching in horror as they turn around and 3 shot kill you with an advanced rifle
If you are constantly being heralded by grenades that are whooping you then you need to change up your playstyle and set up... Not blame the game for offering something you too could use but don't |

True but when you have 4 or 5 guys together even now you still get grenade spam and why not, they have 8-15 grenades between the lot of them Having 1 grenade on you limits the potential to spam unless the entire team is together and it would help shut up the vehicle players crying about AV grenades
And Ill take this as an opportunity to say revert the health buff on the vehicles |

There's a good chance that EWAR gear like the webifier might be reusable equipment like the active scanner. There's a reason why logis are the only suit class with more than one equipment slot. You don't want a bunch of assaults and scouts running around with this stuff. |

Make explosive contact grenades have a tight blast radius and a little bit less damage. |

The Thukker grenade blast radius is 2.5M, which for a grenade is pretty small. Especially considering the Core is 7.2M, which is exactly why I think a skilled player who knows how to cook, and place a grenade will be much more dangerous with Core's as opposed to the Thukker. |

Yea so? If someone wants to buy them then I don't see why they shouldn't be able to have them. It also removes some variety in the game which is almost never good. |

Contact grenades are a nuisance for shield tanked suits but an IWIN button against armor suits. They were a terrible idea when they introduced them the first time, and nothing's changed. |
