So as soon as the Uprising update came, I decided to leave STB. Why? I don't see any benefits of being in a corp and I see it as more of a hassle. (i.e. scheduled meetings, weekly taxes, having a mic. etc.)
I honestly say that its not worth it right now. Sure you guys can say "you have good squadmates" and "you're able to participate in PC" but those are not really good reasons for me.
Let's see..... I play Dust occasionally so I'd be kicked anyway for not paying these taxes to fund PC, I almost never use my mic even though I have one, and squad-ing with randoms is always an experience. I remember telling members of my team to squad up because it makes the game easier to play. And guess what? We won 4 skirmishes and 3 ambushes in a row with my squad filling up the first 6 spots. (All it takes is a good squad leader who knows how to communicate via orders).
As for PC itself, I believe its too restricting with all these time frames/windows for certain things to happen or battles to begin. The time that these battles begin is not compatible with my time due to large timezone differences.
Now if you didn't feel like reading all of that mess, state why you think being in a corp is beneficial and a good reason to support it. |

Well.. The corp basically become your friends. And some people like myself, find it hard to play alone since it gets boring without talking to some one lol. |

I find it boring to play without squadding up with corp mates, you also get stomped all over if you try and lone wolf this game, get a mic, get a corp, your experience will improve tenfold.
I know some funny motherfuckers in my corp/alliance. |

Sounds like you were in an overly competitive corp for your play style. I enjoy the random convo's in corp and planning and practicing specific tactics and fittings. But there are no requirements other than respect your corp mates and don't be a punk. The more casual corps may not be as competitive in PC, but they don't feel like a job.
I'm a sporadic player who sometimes just pops in for a few matches with randoms, but when I want a good session of actively learning the game, the resources are there. Just have to find the right corp for you, not necessarily the one topping the leader boards. |

I don't know, I enjoy soloing from time to time. Not necessarily lone wolfing, but just going into a match without a squad and trying to coordinate with randoms. It's really not as menacing as it may sound and I usually still do quite good. Playing with a squad is also fun for communication but it usually results in massive blow outs which aren't as intense. |

If you're not interested in PC then I don't see any benefit in being in a corp until you find one that has a fair amount of people that you enjoy playing with. The only reason I joined this corp is because I stumbled across a group of players that I enjoyed playing with that were in this corp; and truth be told, it's the only reason I still play this game.
It's up to the people that play this game to make it worthwhile. |
