All the haters in this thread have never played a real FPS. Nowadays they call it "hardcore" while in my day we just called it the game. That is the problem with the new shooters and FPS players in general. They just want to run and gun and when they die respawn and do it all over again. You know some of my favorite FPS games of all time are 1-2 shots you are dead, and you have to wait until the next round to respawn. That is a true test of skill. Halo Reach had an awesome last stage. It simply said 'SURVIVE'. I did, for about 25 minutes. 10 of those minutes I was all by myself just killing waves and waves covenant badasses. To me that was more fun than the last 4-5 years of online FPS gameplay due to the dumbing down and infinite respawns of todays shooters.
No games have GR:IT anymore. It is all pad K/DR, boost prestige to highest level, BXR, find the OP weapon and learn it, and if you die just respawn and get back into it. The days of siege are behind us. The ADD generation has bought it out with their mindless death and destruction. I am saddened by the fact that even my BF2 tactical server is now empty.
I +1 this idea, CCP just needs to get their servers in order so that those with the best connection don't instantly win every game. |

HankNK wrote:+1 for sure-deadly weapon mode.
The game i played most online was BF2-Forgotten Hop2 MOD or BF2 Project Reality MOD. Great stuff! Its much slower and not like spraying bullets like a tourist on a indian toilett beeing sick.
It improves tactical gaming and squad-playing. <- thats what i miss in dust.
Problem is: Skilling and 1-2 shots=death do not match...
TL;DR: CCP, put a WW2 MOD on dust! *lol*
Project Reality was awesome. Probably the best BF2 mod EVER. |

Kalante Schiffer wrote:wow your ignorance is astounding. first i doubt you even read what i wrote. and 2nd you dont even know what happened in resistance fall of man or what is. in RFoM everyone had equal ground, it was just you, your gun, and a small four bar health that fully regenerated in less than 10 seconds. there was nothing overpowered or anything to boost your damage, or health, stamina, awareness. as i said EVERYONE was in equal ground and yet 90% decided to play 1hit kill games because you know what those 1hit players lacked? gun game.
Place the same logic here in Dust 514. imagine all of the players with zero SP "equal ground". the skilled players will still perform good whether having massive amounts of SP or not.
what i am trying to say here is.. people will do 1hit no matter what. That's just funny. You know I used to play a game where you had a 4 bar health as well. It was called Rainbow Six 3. Possibly one of the best FPS ever. and you know what, your 4 bar health never regenerated, and once you were dead you were dead. Wait till next round. Some of the greatest players I have ever played with, 2 are MLG pros now and 3 are FPS developers, one actually works under IW/Activision and designs the maps for the COD franchise.
I bring up RS3 because, when Rainbow went to a regenerative health system, they lost half of their playerbase due to the fact that you didn't need a good gun game anymore. If you got hit all you needed to do was duck around the corner and regenerate heath. Many people were pissed about this because in the Rainbow crowd, based on the book by Tom Clancy, we were ELITE OPS. We got hit and it would decay our vision and make us more susceptible to death if we engaged in another foolish engagement. It made us play better.
Yet, here you are defending the very thing that has killed pure FPS. I think what you lack is a gun game, so you need regeneration. Me, I just need to see you to kill you, and good luck finding me when OHK and round out is on the line. That is where I thrive. |

I'm by no means a "L337" player but I can do just as well on my 700,000 sp alt as my 7,000,000 sp main, my main just has more toys to play with. Six months ago I would have said yeah sp can get you the win but the gap between standard and prototype is really thin compared to early beta.
But I'm probably posting in vain as you are clearly not receptive to reason. You do a lot more running away and picking on stragglers on that 700,000 SP alt to perform like you do on that 7 mil SP main. Because you can't straight up fight a proto with 700k SP.
If you don't feel that SP and gear changes the game then you are either in denial or just really really slow. |

Surt gods end wrote:resistance and unreal had this. was a blast. but to be effective, you need smaller maps. large maps and might as well call it sniper game mode. Or just proper cover. Like trees and bushes. . . |
