I really like this game. But I'm sick of the QQ and nerd rage.
I've been experimenting with all sorts of different classes and fits so as to better understand different playstyles. Yesterday I was topping scoreboards in a militia Gallente suit and my Toxin AR. I was going up against Proto suits, TACARs, Flaylocks, you name it, and doing just fine. I don't quite understand all of the complaining. In fact, in one game I had 26 kills, one less than my record.
I don't say this to brag, but just to point out that some things that have been deemed "useless" or underpowered are perfectly viable. This game requires a little bit more thinking than "this is stronger than that".
Here is a list of what I've learned:
-Armor tanking is extremely good, and I'm starting to prefer it over my maxed out shield tanking. You just have to prioritize reps over plates. If you have more than one plate on ANY suit (even most heavies) you're doing it wrong. Also, find logibros and help them. they'll appreciate the points as much as you'll appreciate being near invincible in strafe duels.
-TACARs didn't actually need a nerf. Its well appreciated, but really it wasn't that hard to deal with. If you're out in the open where they can see you, youre doing it wrong. I guess that kinda goes with every weapon. I've never used it, so I can't really give a completely objective opinion on it. I don't even have ARs trained to 1.
-Heavies...for crying out loud please stop crouching around corners, or standing still for that matter...it makes you way too easy to kill. Its simple mistakes like this that make you feel that certain weapons are OP or UP. Heavy suits are fine, HMG is fine. Just keep moving and watch people run into your cone of death.
Please post more tips and advice for people that need a reference! Hell, post fits, fav weapons, anything. Lets please just take a break from bitching for a while |

No you are correct. The 99% of the reason why TAC is OP is because no one wants to take cover or approach an objective using cover. "I can't run over open ground guns blazing screeming "shoot me in the head" TACs are OP!! WAHAAAAAAA!!!" |

With all the murder taxie stuff going on, I've taken a liking to running out into the open with a PC and Packed AV grenades, and Adv prox mines. Wait till an LAV is coming to run you over, dropping all my prox mines and then decimating the shields and denting the armor with the PC and AV grenades, and watching them explode as they go over my mines thinking they are about to score an easy kill. |

i got excited about the premise of this post, but realized it was a lot of bitching about bitching. nevertheless...
yes, armor is not necessarily broken. just plates, imho. love rep heavy fits.

The "you probably won't die LAV bane fit"
Gallente/Amarr
L:Standard swarm launcher S:Militia/BPO SMG
Grenades (whatever you can fit) Nanohive (to rearm with)
Lows: Plate/Repper combo in whatever you can fit. I prefer a balance. A Signal Damp will help too.
Highs: Damage.
Play: Go high or stick with the zerg. Your targets are LAVs, Dropships and HAVs. If you go high try to relocate. After getting a triple bag LAV kill a squad made it thier personal business to hunt me down repeatedly, relocating helped me avoid dying too many times. Also swarms can shoot round corners. It often pays after getting a lock to shoot at wierd angles to get the hits. Firing straight doesn't always work. With enough practice you get a feel for how the missiles arc towards thier target. The shooting round corners things also helps when dealing with vehicles, especially HAVs upclose. Peek up, get the lock, return to safety, shoot in the air. |

When playing OMS or Domination, instead of throwing remotes around corners or at the objective. I like to scatter them around supply depots, friendly or enemy and when a red gets up to it to hack or resupply, detonate. I love watching corpses fly through the air. |

If you are sniping, and your target is at a distance and is running, aim to where you think they will be in accordance to their current direction. In simple terms, aim a great deal ahead of them and wait till they cross till you shoot. |

When seeing someone hacking an objective give them cover. look around the objective not at the objective...no bullets will be coming from the objective...it is pretty easy to learn where enemies will be spawning in or coming from to stop the hack...cover those areas. |

Many things for advice but #1 most important:
IF YOU CANT TAKE THE GRIND, QUIT NOW... If you want to be a super casual player (like once a week or less) just give it up... you will be super frustrated all the time and hate urself (maybe try COD or BF3)
If you're smart enough to read this post then you are smart enough to read other threads... If a mass of people are complaining about something being OP (over powered) then obviously you should try to get that
Remember this is not COD or BF3 its nearly (and i say nearly because good players do it about half the time), nearly impossible to run around a corner and take out more than 2 or 3 enemies... That being said use tactics, things such as; get the high ground, flank them as much as possible, use other blue dots as meat shields, etc...
If you are bored try something new... you never know when you will come across a better gameplay style for you...
Talk nicely in local, you would be surprised who looks at that and wants to talk back... I remember well before i was squadding with good people i randomly talked in local to LISA MICHELLE for a short while and got into a good squad for a couple hours... Man does that show you this game isnt hopeless
Finally unless you are fighting for actual real Dust/Eve space, dont take this game seriously... If you can run around in an LAV and run over 5 people in a match i bet you will have a bigger grin on ur face than anyone who is going 28/0 |

Actually no.
Make a few PSN accounts make characters on each of those accounts. Let passive Sp do its work for you.
Passive SP will bring you up to 4 million SP in like 5 months.
Yes the game does get better the more SP you have...Take breaks when the grind gets frustrating and let passive do the work for you then come back to the game.
Also right now all the high SP players seem to stick to Ambush and domination...stay out of those games especially if you are solo grinding.
Also leave matches at the start when you see a full squad of top corps on the opposing team. Their high SP will stomp you into the ground. |

For sure a better idea! If your already not playing much might as well soak up a ton of free Sp on multiple characters to try out whatever u want... good call
btw also money isnt everything, just because u might be losing money doesnt mean ur not doing something right... I lose money all the time trying to take out an enemy enforcer tank... but when i achieve it my net value worth drops a hell of a lot less than the tankers does |
