FW is ment to be for people who want to squad up and do team play.
at the moment iv run 3-4 games and it seems none of these idots even know how to hack a point. so plese put some kind of level gate on faction Warfare beuacse its just frustrating to have to put up with this.
and iv tried being on comms directing people put im just pulling my hair out. 90% of problems with dust at the moment are steaming from people not knowing what the **** they are doing
disclmair, this is steadyhand angry thread from losing 5 games though no fault is own, please take with a pinch of salt |

You may be on the wrong side of the war, but I agree with you on this.
FW NEEDS to be more than just glorified pubs. Until that happens it will be Fuct Warfare.
1) Defenders should already hold points since they are the DEFENDERS!!!! 2) Attackers should be able to initiate an attack on any enemy faction held District through FW not PC.
These two things need to happen to get FW away from being glorified pubs. In Eve FW, CCP provides plexes in all FW systems, in Dust, these would be Districts. In Eve FW, CCP DOESN'T open plexes for you, you see what plexes are available in the system and choose which one you want to run.
If we decide to attack a particular District, then the enemy faction should be given the option to defend; if they don't, we simply play a one-sided match until the enemy defenses are eradicated.
We also need to be allowed to enlist as Faction Soldiers and not just as pure Mercs. I am not saying that we shouldn't be allowed to be pure Mercs, though the option to be a bonafide Faction Soldier should be there.
I've got a lot more ideas, though I don't really have the time to put them all down here. |

I don't know if it's already like this or not, but FW needs to reward ISK solely based on a win or a loss. If you win, you'll get a ton of ISK. If you lose, you get very little. This would give players a public version "play to win" battles, like PC, rather than where people play to get the most WP.
We would see players doing low-WP (but very effective) roles such as dropship piloting, actual scouting, and guarding an objective rather than running with the pack |

I know what Steadyhand means. Used to be a few weeks back that the Amarr FWers suck so bad I refused to play with them.
No Squads, not talking, just people who obviously had mad skilllz in other FPSers who thought that would carry them, now I see us winning more fights than we lose.
But yeah I think FW should be more exclusive. People should not just jump in there because the idea sounds cool, especially when in future contracts will be generated by specific EVE FW groups. What sane EVE player would leave their FW jobs to complete randoms? |

allowing us to squad up and launch are own attacks would be nice too.
what i think dust really really really needs is a player based ranking system. and then allow EvE players in FW or PC to sponsor attacks where only certain ratings are allowed. as after their might be times you want to send a squad of 0's to thier death as a distrction :P |

Faction warfare should just be a huge map and more of a sandbox. You should also be given a choice when you log in for which side you are fighting for and after that you cannot change it until the FW is over.
the map should function on a timer, and whichever side gets the most kills is declared a winner. There should also be capture points which grant bonuses to whoever owns them. Maybe require the capture of like 3 satellite nodes and one big node to activate a 3-5% damage buff or somethn. but if one satellite falls its dropped/decreased.
I just think it should be more of a free roam sandboxy mode than a quickmatch. |

The only time I will run FW is when my corp is running massive q-syncs (which is most every night at some point). Sadly, we don't come up against much resistance. It seems as if as soon as the scrubs/noobs leave academy they gather in FW. Not only does this fill up all the limited slots in FW but it defeats the purpose of actually doing FW (ie for teamwork and a more serious business type of match, not to mention the effect we have on EvE FW).
Why would they do this? There is no benefit to doing FW as a solo player/scrub than running skirmishs. In fact there are big disadvantages. Namely, the longer load times and war barge times.
As such, getting back to the OPs thread. Yes, there should be some kind of method to remove the scrub plague and get FW to be a more meaningful match. Maybe something like needing a squad of 3 to get in the queue. Just that would help so much. |

If there is any ranking system in FW, it should be modeled after the FW ranking systems already present in Eve. However, it should also draw a few things from (wait for it......) MAG's leadership model.
(Using Minmatar Ranks for example) Make it so that you need to be at least a Spike Lieutenant (2nd rank) to be a Squad Leader in FW battles. Any WP gained while being a SL in a FW battle should not only be applied to your lifetime WP stat, it should also be used to create a new stat that works to help you rank up in FW.
Give Venge Captains (4th rank) the ability to function similar to a PL from MAG (only 1 per side though; at least until we get larger battles). Let their orb pool accumulate from everyone on their team. Perhaps give them some added capabilities (that would be available to others in PC too) that allow them to mobilize their teams MCC, maybe deploying some friendly installations.
I know you were probably meaning something more like a metacritic ranking system, but tbh, I think that would be way too easily gamed. As it stands now, we've still got protoscrub losers running about in pubs stroking their ego because they're l337 g0dz with their 27.18074298370929035479509 KDRs and then you've also got guys like me who are willing to stick their free suit wearing dicks in a meatgrinder just to get the SP and whatever ISK we get (I don't give two squirts of **** about KDR and I'm willing to throw mine in the bin if need be, I can find self-worth elsewhere).
Besides, most people already probably rank and judge people based on things as easily gamed as KD and WP, no sense in giving people another stat to game. |
