I want to start with, I don't play EVE. I have read the eve wiki and dust wiki and am writing a guide while at work. Please append if I miss anything and I shall enter your name in acknowledgements.
What is faction war? Faction war is basically 2 alliances of 4 factions competing for control over dungeons/complexes. When a faction has control of a complex, they can lock opposing factions out. These complexes are a source of isk, how large I am not certain. What is obviously clear is that a faction becomes more profitable if it has more complexes in it's control.
How does DUST effect FW? When DUST mercs participate in FW battles the complexes become easier to take on the EVE side. When we fight in FW battles the win will give a slight advantage to which ever side received the win in that region.
Rewards for DUST? They are the same as public matches. By participating in these battles we are actually helping EVE players at random, for free. There are opportunities that exist to make a profit. EVE corps that are serious about holding their complexes will need DUST corps to make sure they have a consistent advantage in occupying them. As I said right now,it is a crapshoot, randomly getting the upperhand, but if EVE corps were to start hiring DUST corps then FW might get more popular. Link to thread regarding FW and profitting.
How do we enter fw? We simply press L1 or start and go to battle finder. Then press R2 to switch to mercenary battle tab. Go to work. You can pick which side to fight for. This gives us versatility in accepting contracts from EVE corps.
Does my corp need to be in planetary conquest or official alligned with a faction? No.
Which factions are allied? Minmatar and Gallente are allied, Amarr and Caldar are allied?
Does FW effect planetary conquest? No.
Does I need to be the same race as the alliance I fight for? No. You can fight for any alliance.

I like the idea, but as I understand it the problem with Dust side FW at the moment is that it is not particularly profitable for capsuleers. If it isn't profitable EVE side don't expect to see any kind of market.
I would like to see CCP; -add FF to FW -increase rewards for victories -*significantly* reduce rewards for loss -add FF to FW
I could of course be wrong, and if any EVE players are present, feel free to correct me on this. |

Has recently been brought to my attention, that it is possible to AWOX FW. Gg, so you can pay a corp to enter both sides of a merc battle to guarantee you victory. |

as a FW eve pilot, It's hella profitable with little risk if it's done right. I loved it, it was just lonely, so I gave it it. |
