For all you Dust only people who didn't know, In Eve players have control over the acquiring of resources, manufacturing of items, and trading items. Confining all items to a particular location requires there to be a lot of logistics and infrastructure. Dust at it's current state does not have an open market but it is supposedly in the works.
Currently everything in Dust is a blueprint, either a copy or original. If there was an open market this would not translate unless there was a major overhaul of industry (which I wouldn't mind) . Currently in Eve a BPOs is needed to make BPCs, which brings us to the dilemma of how to manufacture gear above militia grade? This could lead to higher tiers of gear requiring some invention tool especially for Dust equipment.
Also an open market full of BPOs bought by Dust players allows there to be a trading system where money from the outside world can be used to make large sums of Isk on the open market, giving DUST players an equivalent to PLEX. It would still be balanced by the market demand, keeping things stable to an extent.
Now comes the personal request from an Eve industrialist. As it stands the last two paragraphs are assuming we are going with the current manufacturing set up. I personally would like Dust players to have actual weapons instead of blueprints, blueprints limit the Eve side contributions immensely. With weapons that require manufacturing before being sent to the market and front lines it allows for a whole new logistics aspect to Dust, tying the two games much closer together. If not the light arms then at least the vehicles and turrets installations (assuming that will be in player control again).
This manufacturing of Dust equipment could be a Dust exclusive thing as well. This would still allow a large planet controlled by a Dust corp to stay self sufficient and in constant supply. Player customs offices could work like trade hubs, passing supplies and troops, giving tax discounts or control to players based on the amount of territory they hold on the planet. Eve side would still have an insensitive in arms trading as dust players could put up buy orders and sell orders drawing in a lot of fresh trading.
I'm interested in anyone's ideas or expansions on any of these ideas, I'm trying to think of small things that would really change the dynamic of both games.
