Either that or make any shots from inside it that hit outside do zero damage. Unreachable compressed rail gun tanks and thale snipers hiding in the red zone is just stupid. The community has been complaining about it for several builds. Please. Just remove the red line. Please.
There is just no good gameplay balance reason to allow OHK tanks to shoot anyone they want from complete safety. None. Change it. Now. Any class should have a counter class but there is no counter of a class that can shoot with deadly efficiency from a zone that you cannot enter for long enough to harm them. A counter is by definition a separate class. A rail tank is not a counter to a rail tank, it's the same class, not a counter.
It's beyond a cluck up. It's so fail it makes my personality hurt. |

tanks should have a limit how many shots they get in redline.. as for the Thale's, i say let them, since those are top of the line at the moment, and take some serious SP to even come close to touching.
tanks are the issue, sitting back there and railing things, because they jsut retreat backwards when they even suspect a Swarm launcher is near.
the Thale is a rare, and POWERFUL sniper rifle, that i think should only be used from redline, because of the sheer rarity of that gun, and its EXXTREME range, there is no where else to really make use of the damned thing |

OP has the only viable solution.
Or make map areas around spawn red line locations for 300 meters in each direction completely flat wide open. So if a tank is spawned and runs to his red line bwahaha cant hide behind anything there. Snipers will always be there. So again making the area completely flat around spawn area red lines would allow team snipers to pick those idiots off from outside the red line.
Another serious issue: MCC snipers.
Played domination much? I don't anymore for this particular reason. A team that has 2 or 3 good snipers can lock the objective down on many maps from the protected MCC. Try and hack the objective come on I dare ya!
fix: Eliminate MCC spawn point on small and domination maps. This in conjunction with the completely flat spawn red line area means your butt has to run to the fight or run and hide, no more sitting in the spawn. |

if u remove the redline then u just end up with tons and tons of noobs crying/quiting everytime they get protostomped followed by being spawn camped after the stomping...... nothing sucks more then a squad of protos or a decent tank spawn killing u the moment u drop from the only spawn point remaining... the MCC idk how it happened but it happened to me once last build |

Hmm good point. However I would rather "exit" the game then play a proto stomp game anyway. You do know quitting right now has 0 effect on your stats that's why everyone does it! lol |

quitting forfeits any potential ISK/active SP for that match and i for one dont like throwing away what ive earned
i dont care much for my KDR or any of that i just want the ISK/SP i should earn for that match and its just no fun being forced to sit in the MCC or being spawn killed/kicked for not spawning because theres nothing to keep spawn killers away |

Agreed but that goes both ways. No fun running in to hack an objective to just get MCC sniped resulting in stat loss, isk loss not gain since suits are expensive!, and no wp since I was shot prior to the hack.
Those type of matches are better exited anyway since you will not get much of anything for your loss. |

pretty sure the mcc sniping problem is a glitch they havent got around to fixing but i do agree it is a problem and an easy to fix one i think
have u ever tried mcc sniping? i have when i first heard about it one thing i noticed was the mcc's hitbox was actually larger than the mcc itsself if it was any bigger mcc sniping would probably be impossible just a guess tho |

Simple solution to the red line, if you're inside for more than X seconds you can't fire your weapon.
People spawning and running out are able to defend themselves but any attempts at camping are short lived or need to be done directly on the line rather than cherry picking a spot way off in the back behind a hill.

the redline sniping is an unfortunate side effect of CCP trying to make it so that a team always has a chance to fight back even in the worst of matches |

Leave the redline alone, we don't need even more camping in Pubs. However removal of WP for all actions taken into or out of the redline would solve the same problem as well as address many others. Even this suggestion wouldn't be a perfect solution but it does address the raised problems without further compounding other pre-existing problems in the game.
0.02 ISK Cross
ps ~ orbitals are a great way to scratch those hard to reach tanks, very few of the rail snipers have any defense to speak of. |

How about spawning in the drop zone underneath the MCC unless your team has no NULL Cannons, and then and only then are you allowed to fight from the MCC as a desperate last ditch attempt to gain ground.
Come to think of it, maybe mounting player controlled turrets on the MCC that only have a range to about the closest NULL Cannon may be neat. Give the redlined team to fight their way out without allowing snipers to hide back there the whole match. I haven't given this a whole lot of thought, though...maybe its fatally flawed or just stupid. I'll revisit this idea in a while. Just tossing spaghetti at the wall, y'know? |

removal of the wp would be a bit too harsh i think perhaps a reduction to wp from actions in the redzone(while also showing where the redzone actually was) like maybe half the wp earned
