CCP I have been playing Dust 514 for a bit of time now and I would very much like to suggest a game mode called GÇ£Land GrabGÇ¥.
Purpose:
The game mode called GÇ£Land GrabGÇ¥ that i am going to describe was a version of Skirmish that was originally a part of the Dust 514 Beta. You could compare it to Battle Field 3GÇÖs Rush game mode.
Description:
GÇ£Land GrabGÇ¥ is a Attack and Defend game type.
The attackers show up on a district with 1 MCC and the Defending team does not have an MCC but they do have a base (Point of Defense- POD). This base POD has its own defenses and is the final goal for the attackers in as soon as it is taken the battle is over. The map would additionally have several other PODGÇÖs that must be taken before they can commence their attack on the base POD.
In order for the attacking team to succeed they must take and hold objectives for a certain amount of time. Once that time frame has passed the objective is moved (preferably in a now unlocked zone of the map). This would force the defender to fall back and take up new positions to defend these new POD. The defending team's objective is to hold/defend those PODGÇÖs until the time runs out (destruction of MCC). Both teams have time constraints and clone constraints. Once the new areas of the map are unlocked the older parts of the map become inaccessible (after a certain time) preventing players from just AFKing during the match. Knowing when objectives are going to fall and preparing for this push is important for the attackers and defenders.
Why:
In the previous version of the Dust 514 Beta this game mode was very engaging and enjoyable. As you played you felt that you were accomplishing something. Additionally it adds a more realistic feel to the game as this would occur naturally in a real battle. It would also add a feeling of superiority to the teams if the opposition was unable to achieve even the simplest of tasks. GÇ£Land GrabGÇ¥ would also encourage teamwork in the frame of the game mode, as well as communication. I would love it if CCP considered this proposition.
Insights or comments are welcome and helpful.

I must say this is my favorite type of game play. A lot more engaging. CCP has changed a lot of stuff since early beta and this is one of those things that i wish they had kept. |

Ah yes, Old Skirmirsh... Good times.
However, my issue with every non-Ambush gamemode CCP has released, this one included, is their reliance on the MCC as an objective to destroy. As CCP envisioned using the vehicle as a "commander" vehicle controlled by a player in an RTS-style view, this reliance would make such a usage potentially OP in the case of an "all-tank" fitting.
My solution is to give the Attackers far fewer clones than Defenders, give them a small-medium clone reinforcement when each stage was cleared, and make no other changes. Although the MCC can still be destroyed or repelled, the primary objective for the Defenders with this change is to "dig in" and slaughter the Attackers before they can let their MCC dock, and Attackers have to outmaneuver defenses and capture objectives quickly to succeed. This makes tactics and intelligence more important for both sides, as well as allowing either side to pull through beyond certain critical points that broke the unmodified Old Skirmish, such as an assured Attacker win when the first stage was completed too quickly. |

I loved old skirmish. They were on the right path with that early game mode. Expand on that game mode, I like it. |
