remember this is steam only and that the pc market is only 10% of the size of the PS3 market, so in theory you could add a zero onto the end of any of these and gives you an idea

but still its all a pinch of salt, i love dust and want to see it succeed, threads like this do nothing, threads which help is what we need and we need the cpm to help filter the good threads to CCP to get this game working as intended

There's a difference between telling someone that they're wrong and defending the game. The two are not irrevocably linked. The most important thing to take away from all this is that you will never win an argument on the internet. I honestly don't know why people try.

Hey maybe CCP's goal was to only have an average of 6000 players playing this AAA FPS.

Maybe they set a goal of only having less than 10,000 players online at one shot.

What is PSN?

Play station network.

I am using it broadly here. I mean that Dust is on the news scroll near the clock on PSN, it is on what new, it is plastered all over the market, it is in that Home thing...there is even a Dust 514 bar.

If you own a PS3 (you know everyone who plays Dust) it is hard to miss the fact that Dust 514 exists and easy to get....that is 30 million people know about it and can get it easily.

and how many of those 30 million people have ever downloaded a free game and played it for an extended amount of time? Oh yeah btw its not just a free game but one that takes about an hour and a half to dl and be able to play and takes up somewhere around 4 - 5 gb on ur ps3... just sayin

The reason it hurts their numbers is because almost all casual gamers go to a store, buy a game, play it for a couple months then pick up something else from said store...
